I try not to bash places but this really got to me and I don’t want others to experience what I did. I took my engagement ring into The Golden Butterfly to have it resized as it was just a little small for my fiancé. During inspection the jeweler told me she could not resize the ring due to it not having a karat stamp that all gold needed by law. I was unaware of this but knew that it was genuine gold so I presented the form the ring maker gave me to show it was 14k gold. She still refused and told me “I might want to consider getting my money back” which I still consider to be a very rude comment. After leaving feeling crushed I contacted the ring maker and they were very professional and sent me pictures of how a ring stamp should look and guaranteed me that my ring had did in fact have a karat stamp. I immediately saw how large these stamps are and took out the ring to find out for myself. Low and behold I found the karat stamp immediately. The woman at The Golden Butterfly had magnified lenses during the inspection of the ring and yet she couldn’t find the stamp that I found immediately. ⚠️WARNING⚠️ Don't take you're jewelry here. I took my wedding ring here to get it resized, and they didn't resize it right, and stole gold from it. Also my wedding ring is a family heirloom. So it's been passed down to my husband by his Nana. The first time they didn't even size my ring to the correct size that I wanted. I ended up taking it back to them for a second time to get them to fix it, and they didn't even tell me how much it was going to be when I dropped it off the second time. So I ended up calling them the same day to see how much they were going to charge me to fix the sizing. They were trying to charge me double what I paid the first time. Not Acceptable!! They ended up cutting my ring into 3 pieces.😡🤬 However, my husband called them and was not happy and told them to put it back together. When I dropped my 14k gold ring off the second time my ring size was 9 and 3/4 I wanted a 10. When they gave it back to me it was a size 8 they STOLE some of my freaking gold off my ring. I will never be going back here. If I could have given them a Zero rating I would have.

If I could give ten stars I would! I showed up 30 minutes before closing with a request for a clasp repair. In 30 minutes, they had it not only properly repaired and the clasp replaced with a beautiful Italian style lobster clasp to match my Italian curb chain (!!!), but also straightened out the links and smoothed them where they were starting to crease! For $22!!! Places like this don’t exist anymore in the modern world. They are a lovely couple that were friendly, engaging, and excellent at their job- they work on all types of pieces as long as they are made with precious metals. The Golden Butterly Jewelers deserves far more love and respect for their craftsmanship than they get in a small town....
