We loved our stay here. In fact, although they can host conferences with dozens of guests and individuals/families, we had the white house to ourselves for all three (weekday) nights of our stay. School has already started, and a wedding party was finished and gone before we arrived. Wonderfully restored Arts&Crafts era homes on a generous "campus", planted with plenty of vegetation and trees, and a few walking paths criss-crossed about. We only saw deer and wild turkeys - as the largest animals - during our stay, but I would not be surprised if one could also see raccoons, opossums, or foxes during the year. We saw a few birds, and heard the songs of many more, including grey catbirds, many multitudes of blue jays, and even a red-eyed vireo and some eagles flying about. The views of the Mississippi from the white house are beautiful, and the position of the property right up on a bluff almost guarantees...

The cabin itself is very comfortable and authentic with the added comforts of a modern home if you need it. Comes with a full flat screen TV, internet, cable, full kitchen (including dishwasher), & A/C. My wife freaked a little bit when she saw the outhouse... But it's just for looks now. There's an add-on bedroom with a full bath now. And there are bugs and mice, but it's a cabin in woods what do you expect? If you are not an outdoors person you would probably enjoy one of rooms in either of the two houses on the property instead. The area and trails are beautiful as well. Some trails aren't as well maintained but don't let that stop you from venturing out. You'll miss some of best views on the property. Breakfast was also amazing! A fully homemade cooked breakfast. We'll...
Read morewe have a large family so we end up renting the grey house and the white house. We have visited several times - different times of the year and each time we are thrilled with how welcome Marie makes us feel. It is so relaxing and clean. The breakfasts are always good. There is plenty of room inside to just sit and visit, play board games, watch TV, (eat- is our favorite thing)and outside is a big beautiful well kept yard for the little ones to run and play - and the big ones too. You just can't beat this for a relaxing long week-end with family. Thank you again Marie. We...
