I would not recommend this store to any travelers passing by. Everything is extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY overpriced. Antiques can be pricy but there is a difference between paying what something is worth VS making extra money off of the gullible, just because you can. The older man working in the antique section was so unprofessional & rude. I was spoken to like a child for taking a photo inside the store. After repeatedly snapping “CAN YOU NOT DO THAT?!” towards me from across the room, i realized he WAS talking to me & that my photo was the issue. I was among 4-5 other women in the store that were also taking photos. Not sure why only I was targeted. I was so taken back by his demeanor that i politely asked to put back what i was getting ready to buy because i was no longer interested in making a purchase. He yelled after me as I walked away about how there is a sign stating you can’t take photos….. a sign I obviously did not see. A sign mixed in with the hundreds of other “vintage” signs on the wall…yeah ok buddy.
The only positive interaction I had was with the woman who was working the front checkout. She was lovely.
I read through other reviews after this experience & realized that the “customer service” at this place is just not up to par. The one review stating a woman was beating her child behind the shop walls made me feel sick. If I had saw that prior, I would have never gave this place my time. Never returning. Check out “My brothers Keeper thrift” or “NC...
Read moreUnlike any other antique store I've seen. This is the most organized place I've been to--every piece feels like it belongs right where it is. Lammers really is more of a showroom where the owners want to proudly display their beautiful collection for you to enjoy (instead of a pile of stuff they hope you will sort through and purchase from). We're not just talking room after room, but building after building. The glasswork is intricate and joyous, and you'll find beads and knickknacks to make you smile. Dig a little further and you'll find curious art pieces, beautiful cobalt/blue glass, old advertisement signs, well-loved ironwork, projectors, radios and a record collection spanning from big band to heavy metal. It really does go on and on, and we found our little 30-minute stop stretching on 3 times as long as we kept looking for the next surprise. You don't even have to like antiquing--if you ever enjoyed an episode of American Pickers or something similar this place has all the joy of finding something unexpected in fantastic condition without having to crawl through a cobweb-smothered barn.
Out of respect for the owner's collection, I have only taken a picture of the outside of the entrance--and that's the way it should be. This is a place you should see for yourself. The next time you're in the area, give yourself a smile...
Read moreI’ve been a faithful customer for several years. But now I’m really angry.
Message was posted as follows: “We will be temporarily closed until Sept.9th. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you when we open!”
I make the drive all the way out to the store shortly after their opening time on the 9th as stated — and it’s still closed. I wait in the parking lot hoping they’re just running late.
At approximately 10:35, while still sitting outside their store, a NEW message gets posted in place of the original one that they are closed until the 16th. What?? The original message dated August has been removed and, still using the August date, a new message inserted in its place. It makes it appear as though they never told customers they would be open on the 9th. That’s shady as hell.
I base my vacation in large part because of this store being a much loved favorite. But this is so unprofessional I...
