My wife and I purchased our home in 2016 and have been extremely pleased with Potomac Shores as a community. As you read these responses, please look beyond the date of February 20th to gain a better perspective of what this community has to offer. This date marked the time when the developers of Potomac Shores decided not to renew the lease of a local landmark known as Tim's Rivershore. Just like many of the disgruntled reviews you are seeing, many of the homeowners were just as surprised with the news. Unfortunately, those posting are not attacking the developers, but rather the community as a whole as they seek revenge. Many of the members within the community have been patrons of Tim's Rivershore. We have participated in many of the events including live bands, fireworks shows and just going there to eat and drink. It was a local watering hole just as it was for people who do not live in Potomac Shores. Even as their anger is misdirected, I hope you take a chance to visit our community. Our community is rich in diversity, not just of color but also economic backgrounds and walks of life. Many of us are prior military, many of us work right alongside the very people who are writing negative comments. Our community is just like any other community and we bought because of that reason. Our community is welcoming, friendly and an amazing place to live. Our homes are no different then many of the others homes in the surrounding area. We love our community and even those who make our community appear what it is not. We are not just Potomac Shores, but we are Dumfries, we are Woodbridge, we are Prince...
Read moreI wouldnât call PoSho cookie cutter. Itâs actually a great community and the best of the 3 I have lived in throughout Woodbridge since 2009. Everyone here actually knows their neighbors and helps each other out. I could not have survived this COVID craziness with two little ones anywhere but here. People here actually want to socialize and make lifelong friends. The social committee is AMAZING and has planned several family friendly events and also several charitable events that have helped support our local surrounding communities. We have built two brand new schools which others in surrounding communities are for sure benefitting from. The teachers at CHES are the best and thankfully the kids are happy!
I know folks are upset about Tims not getting their lease renewed but again the developer gave them an opportunity to provide a plan to âcleanup-revampâ the place and they didnât follow through. This is in no way a reflection of this community and the folks who live here. Weâve been going to Tims well before we moved here as we are boaters but Tims has been going downhill for awhile. The food is sub par, drinks and atmosphere are great but it could use a facelift and actual slips so boaters could park more easily. The shoreline surrounding Tims was always full of dead trees and murky waters. We havenât frequented it much in the last couple years and actually prefer to boat all the way down to FVB and go to Ricks as their food, drinks and staff were always great and the DJ and live music was...
Read moreThis review exclusively for the Potomac Shores Town Center, not the housing surrounding it. Before Suncal bought the Potomac Shores land from Southbridge, the Town Center was heralded to be the Crownpiece of Prince William County. It would rival the Baltimore Inner Harbor! It was promised to be a luxury waterfront to relax and play.
Now from what I see, there is no way the land can accommodate the upcoming large-upscale Conventional Center-Hotel, boutique stores, Amtrak-Metro station, and visitor parking spaces. They are maximizing the land to squeeze more houses instead.
It is known now that attraction centers can only survive if and only if they expand. Tyson, Fair Oaks, and Potomac Mills are expanding to survive. So with the land allotted for the Town Center, the future looks bleak.
I love the magnificence trees and the rolling hill golf course scenery! They have invested tremendous environment investment by planting many large and expensive trees such as Magnolias and Maples. Awesome green environment! I love to run to this area, but now I am seeing more trash on the road and wood. Are they running out of cash? I hope the management has enough fund to build the promised Great Town Center, because Prince William County needs a Crownpiece to show off.
I am giving three stars now, but I hope to give five stars when improvement started to be seen.
Update November 30, 2019: Very little progress on the Town Center, while house construction is moving...
