This place is filthy. Absolutely filthy. Youre paying $60 a month to wade in filth. They just don't deep clean enough and get defensive if you bring it up. Id look past it if it was cheaper, but this neglegence is just nasty. After 5 years of tolerance, I cancelled my memebership today and this is why: First, the Exploration Station is NEVER cleaned. It's almost as bad as the McDonald's play place. There are handprints on the dusty slide that have been there for nearly 5 years. Inside, it smells of feet, and there's hidden garbage shoved in cracks, mystery sticky smears all over the mirrors & windows, and soooo much foot grime build up on the floor. The balls in the ball pits are also discolored with a film of grey. When I told them (the assistant manager) about the state of cleanliness of the play place, her first response was an accusatory question, "Did YOU go up there?". I get that adults aren't allowed up there, but sometimes it's gotta happen. That response tells me they don't send an adult up into it to clean the place regularly, if at all. It's poorly maintained and is rarely deep cleaned. That's not all, unfortunately. The women's showers are covered in a film of soap scum. The grout looks smooth with build-up in some areas especially the floor. Then, theres the pool's edge that has a massive amount of build-up from people holding onto it. Goes all the way around it, a dark yellow/grey buildup of skin cells and oils. The girls at the front desk are usually sweet and charming people. I have nothing bad to say about them except for when I cancelled my membership. The woman I spoke to asked me why, and when I tried telling her, she cut me off. Good grief, how many times are y'all gonna keep dismissing me? I know there are a lot of reviews saying it's clean; & at a glance, it is. There's no trash and dirt on the floor, it doesn't have a bad smell when you walk in, the bathrooms are regularly surface cleaned and restocked, the pool is clear and smells like a pool... The problem is there is not enough deep cleaning, if there even is any.. i can take my kiddo to places who actually care about...
Read moreHad an event here. Horrible experience. The staff here have no idea how to handle or work with a coordinator. I won't go into too much detail in order to protect the innocent parties in this situation but they have made it really hard on the coordinator, as well as, the clients who booked the space. They wouldn't even let the coordinator move around the room! One of the clients had to stop what they were doing and drive all the way here to tell them the coordinator, who was hired to do the event, had permission to move the tables. It's moving tables! Ridiculous! Then, the client paid for the tables to have table clothes on them. All the circle tables had table clothes but the long rectangular didn't. Big deal? No but it IS a huge hassle and inconvenience when on a time schedule, which we were running behind because we were told the wrong information and showed up 30 minutes too early. They wouldn't let us in the room at all so we had to ask them to at least let us unload the food we had in the cars. It was over 95 degrees outside, too. Just no. If you had a good time here, great, but I WILL NOT recommend this place AT ALL....
Read moreif this place is for the "community", why does it cost more than every gym in town? because Duncan is still a segregated town. this keeps the riff raff out who can't afford it. go ahead and check it out for a day. any people of color in there? maybe you consider that a good thing. in practical matters, there are always unsupervised children running around. no one (and I mean no one) will wipe the weight machines down, including known trainers. I even know of a person being made fun of by aa trainer for wiping down. oh, and maybe on top of that you will like seeing all the teenage boys in there flexing and sweating all over the machines. this place is a joke, a snotty place for the "elite" of Duncan (read:big fish, small pond) to feel their privilege. like the rest of this town. so you wonder why this town is stuck in the nasty rut it's in? maybe another crappie microwave restaurant will save us (chili's anyone), no? maybe another BBQ restaurant? this town is like a teacher on summer vacation. NO CLASS. and the Simmons center exhibits every one of its...
