EDIT: We used to bring our dog here for day care and stopped after they lost our trust.
We had our dog at daycare the day that the staff did a mass walk-out (or were fired, depending on who you ask). Our dog is very energetic and we dropped her off expecting her to get some energy out. When we went to her scheduled pick up we noticed the interior and exterior play areas were both completely empty. Thatās when I knew something was wrong.
I told them who I was there to pick up, and the woman began to explain that her staff āwalked outā that day. They then went to the back where the kennel crates are and retrieved our dog from a CRATE. Our dog has anxiety in small spaces and we havenāt crated her since she was a puppy. They never asked for our consent to crate our dog whatsoever.
I get some people bring their dog in while they are at work, but I was at home all day and took her to daycare to get some energy out. I felt so disgusted and betrayed that they would crate her without our consent. They didnāt even give us a phone call telling us that they are suddenly under staffed to see if we could pick her up. They took the option away from us to pick our dog up to avoid being crated which is very sneaky and deceiving. On top of it, they never apologized or even offered to refund for the day.
Our dog was shaking with her tail between her legs for the rest of the day at home. I cannot fully express how upsetting that interaction was. Absolutely disgusting treatment towards not only the dogs, but also their owners.
Original post: Great prices for day care. We drop out very hyper dog off mostly when we both are out of the house all day, if weāre trying to deep clean around the house, or if itās a rainy day and we donāt want our dog to get muddy š
I do wish they had webcams streaming on their website in the indoor and outdoor common spaces like other daycares do so we could spy on our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went for a swim session and did not really know what to expect - when I spoke with them over the phone everyone was very nice and timely in their responses. I would say my expectations of the swim session was greater than what we actually experienced. I had imagined that the time would be broken up between assisted treading from the pet pal but also with time for our boy to free-swim/jump in after a toy/have fun. Unfortunately the walk space around the pool was small so it didn't really accommodate what I had envisioned (which isn't necessarily anyone's fault, just not what I had hoped for).
One other thing I was not happy with was being unable to allow our second dog, who came with to watch, to use 5-10 minutes at the end of my first dogs 30 min session - I read that if you wanted your other dog to swim you need to schedule their own time slot but when I talked to someone over the phone (and told them I was concerned about scheduling my second dog a whole 20 mins in case she didn't like it, since this was our first visit) they told me they could allow her to take a dip just to see if she liked it, but when we brought that idea up in person they said "no we don't do that." I respect their rules but felt like if it was never going to be okay that the person shouldn't have gotten my hopes up on the phone.
I would suggest this place for swimming if you are looking for therapy as the pool and pool room doesn't seem to accommodate "fun swimming" (and the pet pal only allowed our boy to tread water in one place with a life jacket on and then have him take breaks). I think it is awesome for healthy exercise and joint relief! I think we will be trying another place that has a deck and a ramp and also allows you to have more than one of your dogs in at a time at no extra cost. We might return to this place for therapy every...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYeah.. so I looked at some of the negative reviews on here before writing mine. First - it seems that most of these people are incorrect or unaware of the services provided at Pampered Pets. My intact male puppy goes for daycare at least once a week (although lately its been more due to poor weather). Heās allowed to play in group play with other dogs (Yes- they do try to keep intact males in different play groups which is totally fine)⦠heās always been allowed to play and participate fully. Its to the point where if I tell him heās going to playtime he beats me to the car to go. Theyāre great at taking him last minute or even boarding him last minute if weāre in a pinch. Heās always been well cared for. Weāve looked in and seen him playing and heās never anything but happy and having a wonderful time. The new owners have put quite a bit of money into making the play areas nicer for the dogs and it shows with the energy level of the pets that are there. Liam has made tons of friends and weāve got a trusted, reliable partner who we know will care for our dog as we would. I canāt say enough good things about them and stress all the negative reviews here have not been our experience...
