Circle A Food Store — Local services in Dunedin

If there was an option to give 0 stars I would!!! I've worked in customer service since the age of 16... And haven't ever experienced what I did today!!! All because of an ignorant (Incase one thinks I am being degrading let me define... lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated) employee... But the worst part is after coming back inside only to get a name and number of the owner after such a rediculous event all together... I was singled out and antagonized by several individuals who were then commended by the employee on duty!!! I was standing off to the side waiting patiently keep in mind but the employee decided to stop what he was doing which obviously ticked the other customers off to very unprofessionally say oh back so soon whatcha want.. (just a name and number) but then I was holding up the line and by folks under the influence of alcohol (buying more) and other ignorant folks ganging up and telling me to get to end of line where I was already for way too long before they came and about another min of which seemed like all eternity of ppl being nosy ungodly. Point I'm trying to make is I am a well respected individual in this community and even if I was a bum on the streets no one deserves to have to deal with that type of behavior..... I was attempting to purchase goods... In a store that my family member has been coming to for over 20 years... I normally don't post anything negative because my mom always told me if u don't have anything nice to say just don't say nothing at all... But this had to be done and I do apologise for the rambling.. just a very upset and...

I have been using this place as a go to for multiple years now for all kinds of stuff, not really for food though, until I attempted to buy multiple products from their food aisle last night. Something told me to start looking at the expiration dates of their soups and V-8 juices and many other things and they were all expired, some up to a year or more. This place is good if you want to buy drinks and other items of that sort, but please do not buy any food here if you can help it, or at least check the expiration date. This is a warning for all, and I’m very disappointed. I did address it with the female owner, and it looked like she was taking a look at some of the products that I had pointed out to her, but I don’t know if she’s going to do anything about it based on her reaction. Just a warning for all. Because I never looked at the expiration dates at this location prior, I’m wondering how many things I have bought over the years that were expired...

The Circle A is a neighborhood Icon. That little store packs so many products! Around here it's mostly referred to as the corner store and we usually walk there. You always run into a friend or neighbor while there. It's owned and run by Allie and his family. When everyone was gouging the prices on bottled water during a storm their price remained the same. Also with the great toilet paper shortage, no price change at all. THe only things I would like to see changed are the pictures in the windows and he needs to buy fresher food, I occasionally (ok, a lot of times) find expired food on the shelves. I wish he would redo his store front so it doesn't look...
