Carolina Skate Land — Local services in Dunn

I used to go there like every weekend, but recently i’ve stopped because there’s not much to do there really. There’s claw machines and air hockey, but if you have no money you can’t play them, so it gets boring if you’re taking a rest from skating. Another thing, there’s not a water fountain anymore so you either have to drink from the bathroom sinks or buy water, they won’t allow you to bring your own water bottle.

I am glad they lowered their prices lately though, it used to be like $20 to get in and rent skates for 3 hours, but now it’s around $15 to rent skates.

Like another reviewer said, the music they play is very outdated and overplayed there.. like every weekend it’s the same stuff with no variety unless you request a song, which they rarely play. So i’d recommend bringing your own headphones if you’re picky about music/ if you don’t like country music lol.

Some of the staff members are really kind and get along well with the customers, which is a plus.

Overall, it’s a decent place to skate if you’re looking for...

This was our 2nd visit. We had decided (last minute) to take our kids skating once other plans fell through. It was super packed, and I was worried it may be too crowded and too late for my children's age. Growing up skating rink staff never paid much attention to tween-teen kids, and would often overlook the bad behavior to avoid having to deal with it...but Carolina Skate is nothing like those back when we were kids!! For one, only the skate area is dimly lit, with disco ball and stroke lights---and only certain times. The whole establishment isnt dark, to allow kids hiding in different spots. The staff were so nice, I mean--the teenager aged staff could have seem more enthused, but hey I got a half smile and a "yes maam" so I am thankful it wasn't me being completely ignored!

Overall, I see why this place has so many positive reviews. It is by far the best operated, best staff and best overall skate rink I have...

just simply based off of the kindness of the woman I spoke to on the phone last night, we will be returning.

we’ve gone a few times for private events and always LOVED our experience, but last night my son was there to meet friends. long story short he left the establishment since his friends had not shown up yet not realizing he would have to buy skates again to re-enter. Sadly he didn’t budget his money to have to buy skates again so when his friends did show up, he didn’t know what to do.

I called up there explaining the situation and the woman I spoke to was so kind and understanding and with the kindness of her heart, allowed my son to re-enter without having to purchase new skates. She covered his cost which meant a lot to the both of us!

needless to say, we will continue to support this local...
