I'm a jewelry dealer and contacted Dillion Hartman about cutting a turquoise stone to replace a large Jasper stone in a piece of jewelry I was selling to a client. I sent him a picture of the stone with the EXACT measurements so he knew exactly what was required. We agreed on a price of $150 in addition to letting him keep the Jasper stone which was valuable on it's own. I mailed him the Jasper stone and after not hearing from him for some time I write him to check in. He complained that the stone was too big and that he needed to charge me much more for it than we had discussed. I expressed my disappointment that he is reneging on a deal that was already agreed to. Reluctantly, he said he could do it, but it could take weeks and I'd have to wait. Because it was already past the deadline we agreed to and I had a customer of my own waiting for the item I said forget it and asked that the stone be returned. YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT After I insisted the stone be returned with tracking an insurance the way it was mailed to him, he tried to tell me the stone wasn't worth much and he didn't want to pay to ship it back to me. He asked how much I wanted for it so he could keep it. I refused to sell it to him because I needed it so that I could have someone else cut the stone. Afraid at this point that I could not longer trust this guy, I said I'd send him a label for the return shipment, which I did. What poor customer service reneging on a gentlemans agreement then being so cheap to not even pay to return the stone when you already cost me weeks of waiting. When I received the stone back, I had it cut by another lapidary. Then, GET THIS, that Jasper stone that Dillion Hartman tried to tell me "wasn't worth much" turns out is a 150 carat picture Jasper of incredible quality. I sold that stone for $200. Be very careful if you chose to do business with Dillion. His dad seems like a reputable guy and I'm sure he'll be disappointed to know how Dillion treated a potential customer in the name of the Durango Silver Company. I will not do business with the company ever again after this experience. He made me feel like I was cheap after we already had an agreement. He knew that I had a limited budget because the piece was already sold. That kind of tatic is even beneath a sleepy car salesman. Wise up young man and learn from your father. (I have emails to prove all of this and it is my right to leave this review. If threatened with legal action, I will immediately file an...
Read moreI had a great experience with Durango Silver Company . I ordered two insect pins for reasonable prices , especially for them both being hand crafted. I did get a holiday discount , and I received my order in great delivery time. My items were shipped in sturdy containers and packing materials to ensure safe delivery. When I inspected the items, I was impressed with the quality of craftsmanship. I so enjoyed what I received , that I just ordered more. Durango Silver Company does do layaway with guidelines . I have had email contact with Dillon and Nattarika . Both were cordial and patient with me. I would like to mention that I collect jewelry , and I have a penchant for handcrafted artisanal work. My suggestion generally is when making a purchase from a company such as Durango Silver Company, try a small one first .If all goes well and you enjoy what you bought, then proceed like I am with another one. best...
Read moreI would have given 0 stars if possible. Durango Silver is about 3 hours from where I live so when I placed my order I asked if I needed expedited shipping as I needed it in 4 days for an anniversary gift but I was assured that it would no be necessary. Unfortunately it did not make it in those 4 day and has still never arrived. After several texts and inquiries about options I was told that I would not get a refund until I sent back my purchase which never came. No refund, no merchandise just a lot of excuses. I highly recommend you do not do business with...
