Nice visitor center! They have everything you need here: merchandise, stamps, maps, and info from awesome park rangers. They don't accept cash, though, which is pretty annoying. They gave us a "promise to pay" for when we got back to Port and had cell service to pay online.
There is a great restroom building up the road from the visitor center that has showers.
There is a cafe and gift store up from the restrooms that has some additional gifts, pre made sandwiches, drinks, and snacks. All priced well, surprisingly. Super helpful...
Read moreThe rangers at the station were very helpful. They pointed out the best day hike for us and the place we were most likely to see moose. Wish we would've tried to find moose first and then go hiking but we know better for next time. We also caught the bones presentation before we took the ferry back and it was funny and informative. As a high school science teacher I even learned a few facts to share with my students. We are looking forward to going back next summer and spend a few days...
