People are better-off applying to other private ranges such as Impact Zone in Hempstead, CCC Shooting Complex in Navasota, Renaissance Shooting Club in Todd Mission or Wallis-Orchard in Wallis. They at least answer/return phone calls and e-mails and sound like the are eager to have you as a member plus they are actively accepting memberships unlike The Ranch TX. Edit in response to owner: [There is no defamation here. I have all of the e-mails, texts and can pull phone records to prove I applied and followed-up multiple times with no response. The only thing unfitting here is your customer service and unprofessionalism. I highly doubt my application was turned-down for valid reasons which is why I pre-emptively mentioned my credentials and experience including 2 previous trips with current members.] I gave this establishment a 1-star review. I was invited by a member/friend twice as a guest (paid guest pass price both times) and thoroughly enjoyed the facility especially the 100 yard 360 degree tactical bays. I was urged by my friend and his associate to apply for membership which I did roughly in October or November of 2021. Fast forward almost a year later and still haven’t heard back despite several e-mails and phone calls. While at the office one day, I decided to give the number on Google a call again and Jim Powers actually answered. I told him of my situation and asked if he could help get my application for review. He was polite and referred me to Matt Shockey whom he said handled the memberships. I responded I have been trying to contact Matt for almost a year. Jim informed me that Matt was a full-time police officer for Sugar Land PD often doing night shifts which I was unaware of. Upon further investigation, I found Matt’s cell phone (publicly available on another social media website) and gave it a call also in the evening. He answered and I felt like I was speaking with a movie star. He sounded like he was on duty as I heard radio chatter so I tried to keep it short and concise out of respect for his job. He said he had ”no idea” what happened to the older applications (Wow). I retorted that I had recently applied for their new Weekday Only membership options which promised an accelerated/expedited application process to which he responded that he wasn’t currently accepting applications (Nice). The long and short of it is that when applying for membership, the website actively tells you to offer as much detail as possible as the bare minimum will get you rejected. Both times I applied, I was thorough on my qualifications and even past outings at the facility with current members to help foster the idea that I would be an ideal member. I have roughly 10,000-12,000 rounds of experience from various platforms, have my LTC, certified for the long range targets at American Shooting Center and have attended informal classes by current and active duty military through friends (DD214s shown and all). Sadly, the common courtesy is not reciprocated despite several calls, texts and e-mails which is the most infuriating part. I mean, just a simple e-mail, phone call or text back letting me know you aren’t accepting applications would’ve at least been professional and given me a sense of closure but I had to expend my own time and energy clawing away just to find...
Read moreI just finished orientation (took about 2 hours to tour the place) and will say this. The pictures online don't do it justice.
Incredibly huge, very well maintained, and one really cool surprise are the 4 mini lodges with sofas, ac, fridges stocked with water, coffee, sinks, and actual full bathrooms spread out throughout the complex.
I also didn't realize when you reserve a range, it will only be you & your group at that range with tall berms between each. (For once, I won't be worrying about the first time shooter next to me waving a muzzle around like at public spots).
*last thought update, while there they were building yet another range, so definitely growing. Applications take a while because they are very selective, but worth the wait. Just give details and be patient.
Thanks again to Jim for showing me around today, looking forward to...
Read moreBased on all of the research I've done to find somewhere to shoot. This is the only place for someone who doesn't own their own property out to 1,000 yds to shoot at steel targets, it is open 24 hrs to members, 3 hour slots for tons of ranges and the facilities look awesome. I've filled out the membership application and would love to become a member but it has been nearly a week and I have not received a response. Please let me join y'all. A month later and I am still not a member, I'll volunteer to clean up your facilities. Tell me what I can do to prove to you I am member material. 3 months later, PLEASE LET ME COME SHOOT AT YOUR RANGE. I AM DESPERATE, I AM 24 AND DO NOT OWN PROPERTY, YOU ARE...
