George’s Furniture — Local services in East Donegal Township

I had been checking out George's Furniture at local shows around the DC area for several years before I was ready to bite the bullet. Money had been tight, but I had been saving up and really wanted a quality dining room set that would grow with my expanding family. My children were out the house and getting married, so I knew a needed a larger table for my small house. I commissioned a table with 8 chairs and 6 leaves that I could add in as needed. I also ordered the cabinet to store the leaves safely. One of the bonus' of ordering from George's was that I was able to choose the width of table I needed. My house is not large and would not fit a 60-inch...or even a 48-inch width and still leave room to walk around it. I was able to order a table that is only 42 inches wide, which is perfect for my house. I have been keeping 2 leaves in the table, providing a length of 7 feet; but can easily add more length when needed. The table and leaf cabinet are beautifully crafted and I have loved them since they arrived several years ago, now. I have no regrets. I received my custom coffee table and nesting end tables on September 8th. Sorry to have taken over a month to write my review. Everything from start to finish has been wonderful. I first saw their work at the Kutztown Folk Festival, attracted by the sapwood dining room table. Right "on the spot" Chris drew up a custom coffee table (and tolerated a couple of revisions on my part). Not one to decide right away, I "slept on it" and came back to the festival the next day and ordered. Juanita was very helpful as well. It was only about 8 weeks from order to delivery. The day of delivery, Chris was right on time. The workmanship on all of the pieces is beautiful. Each is signed by the woodcrafter who made it. All are truly new...
