I've only been to two drive-in theatres so I have to admit that I'm lacking a frame of reference with witch I can accurately rate this one. However, with the increasing scarcity of drive-in theatres in general, I feel that I (and anyone else) is justified in rating Sky-Vu and other Drive-In theatres. So, with that said.. on with the review.
Upon arriving, you can already tell that this place is an establised hallmark of northwest Minnesota. The screen is large and the projector is clear. Sky-Vu offers great prices for showings and consessions. Overall, I have no complaints about Sky-Vu, Its a great place. The only complaints I have is with Drive-In theatres in general. I find the viewing experience very uncomfortable compared to indoor theatres. I wouldn't go to a Drive-In for just the viewing experience, without family or friends. I would go to an Indoor theatre for that. By the same token, I wouldn't go to the indoor theatre if my goal was to have a family friendly bonding experience.
In short, I find that the quality of the viewing experience at Drive-Ins don't matter very much if you're going for a bonding experience with friends or family, which most people who go to drive-ins are doing when they...

Read moreThe prices are a little high for both tickets and food. Probably typical theater prices without the indoor setting. The screen itself is showing age and it's visible while watching the movie. Also, at the time I went they weren't accepting anything but cash at concessions, but did accept debit cards/credit cards for buying tickets, which was odd and annoying.
