Worth the 1.5 hour drive from Bozeman and the price is very fair. We got so much meat back from our elk in less than 2 weeks. These guys have it down. I really like the packaging and labeling of the different cuts. Great customer service. Keep up the good work! For comparison purposes: We took another elk to a different processor in Bozeman, (Happle's) they took over a month to even start cutting it, then called me to say that it was a loss. The bloodshot had spoiled the meat and it smelled really bad. No kidding. And their price was 300 dollars more than Montana city meats charged us for a way bigger elk. That's a story for another review, but night and day difference to say to least.

I started using Montana City Meats last year and have been very happy with the results. Gary provides a great service at reasonable rates and treats every animal as if it was his own big game harvest. I have no doubts that the meat I am getting back is mine and was cared for from start to finish.

Do with this what you will; I brought a quartered, skinned, and "game bagged" ELK to Montana City Meats. For the grand total of $478.95 for basic cuts, burgers and steaks. I was charged a re-skinning fee and no weight was taken.

RIPPED US OFF. 2600.00 DOLLARS WE ORDERED, whole hog and 1/2 beef. Didn't even fill my freezer.Going to BBB, he should be shut down. Just another case of Veterans being taken advantage of. We are both senior. He even called wanted us to pick our order up at 800 at night we live 50 miles from him. Begged him for 2 hams I got 1..because most people just want 1. Omg had to go buy another one for Christmas. 60 pounds of burger he told us 80. He kept telling us over and over how expensive beef was. Eccch No beef ribs, no sirloin, nolondon broil., no nothing except 2 bags of stew meat, and 1 beef bone.We will do everything in our power to make sure he doesn't this too anyone else. You sir have cheated us and you know it...

We had several months into feeding two of our beef when the processor we had lined up backed out on us last minute. We found Montana City Meats online and Gary was able to fit us into his schedule quickly. He is charismatic and proud of his business and it shows in his work. We got our beef back within a few weeks all vacuum packed and neatly labeled. I see some reviews where people are disappointed in his pricing, but as the age old saying goes “you get what you pay for.” When you spend months feeding an animal and paying for feed, I don’t mind paying a little extra to have it processed in a clean facility I can trust. Definitely will be back. Thanks to Gary for a...
