Bentley got his first haircut at Porter Road Pet Care today. He was met by the groomer when we got there and spent about 2 hours and fifteen minutes getting all cleaned up. He came out with his groomer and was as happy as a dog could be. From his looks, he had a great time. He looks great. The experience was great for me as well and he is already booked for his next grooming service.The workers from those at the desk to those working behind the scenes were polite and wonderful to meet. Bentley showed that he was well taken care of during his short stay today and will be looking forward to going back for his next grooming service.

Both my dogs have stayed there recently. They are clean when I pick them up although the first time I did a request baths. This time around they needed a bath because they were sleeping in their own soiled beds, poop piled on the bed I was a little disappointed seeing that on camera and how long it took them to notice . They did try and wash the bedding, but it’s still smells really bad and I need to rewash it. There seemed to be some miscommunication about the amount of playtime that I requested for my dogs. I had requested three times a day and they only got once. I’m not really sure how they do things, I see the dogs some of them out in the kennels Where you can see them, and then every time I look on camera, my dogs were inside in their pen. I don’t know if they’re able to go outside that little door. Own or if it has to be unlocked. It just seems that they should be able to walk back-and-forth from indoors to outdoors. Both of my dogs take medication and apparently the medication must’ve spilled, and there were pills all over the bottom of the paper bag that held my dry bag of dog food and their pill bottles. The first time they were boarded there which wasn’t more than two weeks ago, I received pictures of them playing outside. This time I received none. Lastly, and this is a suggestion to the man who checks people in and out, maybe it’s just the personality I don’t know, But try and be a little friendlier to people that are entrusting you with their pets. People are patronizing your business, maybe a smile or wishing someone a nice day or thank you for using us might be helpful. Thank you for the staff that brought my pets to and from our vehicle. It is unfortunate that I am writing an unfavorable review for the pet grooming services received by this business. I decided to give them a try despite some of the negative reviews that I read online beforehand, because I believe in giving everyone a chance. I will say that the two ladies who received us upon our arrival were very nice and personable, however the gentleman who collected our payment when we were picking my dog up was not very welcoming at all. Clearly he is not a people person...which is fine as he was not rude...just not warm and fuzzy.

Now let's get to the grooming services at hand. So I showed the ladies a picture of how I like my dog groomed, and they seemed to fully understand what I wanted done...so I thought. When my daughter and I returned to pick my dog up, he was brought out looking like a shaved bird. He was scalped (almost bald), and when we got home we noticed that his hair was cut so choppy and uneven, that it looked like someone drunk cut his hair!! We were very disappointed and speechless to say the least, and probably will not ever go back to this establishment.

Although I was very disappointed in the poor job that was done, I did not resort to yelling and screaming at them. I did give them the benefit of the doubt despite the negative reviews that I read, because there was a lot of positive reviews as well....I am just one of those who had a bad 1st time experience. Maybe other 1st timers will have a much better experience to report. The good part is that my dog's hair...
