The ppeople in charge are exciting and enthusiastic and very good at finding clear views of the sky. They not only answer questions, but do so in an engaging manner anyone can understand. My daughter had a blast! The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is really no fault of theirs. Will someone please get them a record breakingly huge telescope and find a place where York's light haze doesn't reach (that may be next to impossible while staying accessible)? You have to wait for an event to come and the society members are mostly older folks but they absolutely love sharing their knowledge with the kids and really seem to enjoy that kids are there. We looked through several different telescopes in the freezing cold, popping in to their small "base" to warm up every so often. If you can, please support them with your membership or just attend their events! Word of warning though, it can be very difficult to find them in the park when it is dark as there are no lights...
