The Ridge & The Root — Local services in East Ridge

My wife and I ordered a custom bar from Casey at the Ridge & The Root awhile back. We both absolutely loved Casey's work, but it wasn't quite the right fit for our style. We reached out to him and inquired about a slightly more modern bar design and he could not have been more helpful, accommodating, and excited for a new challenged to design a new bar for us!

After he did a consultation with us to discuss what we were looking for, he provided us with a mock rendering of our piece. Even made some changes no problem for us in the rendering after my wife and I talked and decided to go with a slightly different door design.

We asked if he would be willing to keep us somewhat updated throughout the process because we were excited to see what goes into it and he was happy to provide the occasional photo update which was really awesome to see throughout.

We currently live in Seattle and Casey has worked out a way to ship these beautiful custom furniture pieces across the country. Everything was communicated well and upon arrival the bar was unloaded with no problem! Casey helped us with this process as much as he was able to and told us to let him know if anything had gone wrong.

The bar itself... is just incredibly immaculate, the wood, the craftsmanship. It is truly impressive work. We don't have much cabinet space in our kitchen and this has provided exactly what we needed to store all our bar ware essentials and freed up space in our kitchen! He even included some really fun surprises for us like a pop out cutting board, a drawer on the inside for extra storage, etc. We could not be more in love with the extremely well built furniture we got from Casey and will enjoy it for many years to come! I’ve been on a journey to replace my toxic cookware (ie, nonstick pots/pans, plastic and silicone utensils) with stainless steel and wood products . I came across plenty of walnut utensils online from big box stores that fit the “look” I was going for , but I could never tell if they were finished with materials that were truly non toxic . I was really excited when I came across Casey’s store on Etsy, as he was responsive to my questions and confirmed they are treated only with high quality non toxic mineral oil and beeswax - which is exactly what I had researched and was looking for . I was extra excited when I found out these are HANDMADE !

These utensils are truly GORGEOUS , I can’t get over it . The pictures don’t do them justice - the depth of the color and grain are truly beautiful, and they are perfectly shaped . Heirloom quality! I am looking forward to taking good care of them so they last a lifetime . While these are an investment , they are completely worth it . I’m beginning to learn that spending money up front for quality goods is way more cost effective than buying and replacing cheaper products multiple times .

P.S. the utensils even came with a complimentary small Spoon, a cute canister of wax , and a really funny and informational care card .

We have had our bar for two years now and it quickly became my favorite piece of furniture in our whole house, despite the fact that I purchased it as a gift for my husband to store his bourbon collection. I love seeing it and running my hand across the top whenever I walk by. Every single detail is flawlessly executed, there is not an inch of this piece that is not completely admirable. I loved how I was able to choose so many of the details, it's completely unique and fits our style so well. We had lived in our house for 8 years before finding this perfect piece for a weird space. I’m glad we waited because it brings us so much joy and fits in perfectly. Casey was a delight to work with, quick to respond, and is a true craftsman. Absolutely worth every single penny, if you are on the fence, do it! Everyone who walks into our house stops to take a closer look and raves about it.
