Worked with Renee Rioux, assistant manager. She was courteous and professional. Was willing to show me a few different sized units and was very friendly, even though we were both getting tornado warnings on our phones !! I have had a great experience so far and thought Renee was great!
Update two years later: Rene is still awesome! Mike is great as well. I hope that extra Space Storage takes care of their employees because they don't take great care of their customers .
During the winter they had a company handle plowing and literally blew the door of my storage unit in. I wasn't notified until a few days later that this occurred and that my belongings were all secured. Never filed an insurance claim because of how inconvenient it would have been to go down and itemize every last thing in the storage unit. However many items were damaged that needed to be thrown out. I also pay for a storage unit that should remain dry. It is not climate controlled but I consistently have mold covering any porous surface of any item in the unit. I've also seen water pooled in the back right corner of my storage unit. There's no possible way this is condensation because of anything in my unit. Perhaps somebody else's, but certainly not mine. I've had to get the big tubs of rid damp multiple times just to try and keep up with it.
Now theres a solar project being retrofitted onto the roofs of the place. I've been asked to give them copy of my key and to make sure that my storage unit is accessible around the back and sides so that some sort of support could potentially be added if my unit needs it. This is pretty inconvenient.
The staff that works here are excellent but that only counts for so much when your rent increased from about $150 to over $200 in 2...
Read moreI use to have a storage unit for many years, I kept it as I go to school in Pennsylvania, after the long drive home I wanted to grab a few things out of my storage that I would need before my family would help me with the rest. I got there around 9:45PM. At around 10:15 a man started yelling at me saying I needed to leave immediately and claimed to be the manager (he was not in any type of official uniform) I asked for his name and he said it was Dan or Don, something along those lines. As a 22 year old female this made me feel very uncomfortable, I was not allowed to finish grabbing the things I needed and was forced to leave. I do understand the gate closes at 10PM, but if the gate works at 9:59 it is reasonable to assume someone may be in there for another 30 minutes or so. Also why is this man walking around back there alone when he thinks everyone is gone? It was extremely creepy, the very next day my Uncle and Boyfriend got my stuff out of there and moved it to Public Storage in Brockton, I will never step foot on another Extra Space Storage again in...
Read moreMy experience was bad, and it is actually ongoing...
I can't go into details because of an ongoing insurance claim, but I suffered property damage because of poor facility maintenance. The worst part is, Extra Space couldn't care less. No one has helped me at all, just "here's the number for the claim"...
...and of course, a customer satisfaction survey.
Update: it is now day 8 of this fiasco. I am sleeping in an apartment full of moldy junk waiting for insurance. I filed a claim Monday, was told by insurance that an adjuster would call later that day.
It is now Thursday. I have heard nothing from insurance. I left two messages, just asking for someone to make contact. Nothing.
The manager called regarding the survey. She apologized, and offered to call insurance for some progress, but that went nowhere. She said this was a 'unique case' (jeez, I hope so!), and that she hoped I would give them my business again.
Let me ask you something dear reader: knowing all this, would YOU give them...
