Golf Digest rates the course #14 in GA. Out of 300 golf courses including some famous names, that's impressive and it deserves the high rating. This is a shot maker's course. Fairways are tight and the Bermuda rough is treacherous to the point it's not only hard to hit out of but very hard just to find your ball. The greens are mostly elevated with many false edges. It's not unusual for a shot on the edge of the green to end up 20 to 30 feet off the green and 6 feet lower. The speed is fast and and a ball above the hole and putted just a little too hard can end up off the green. So the course is very challenging. It's also very fair. While poor shots and even decent shots can be harshly punished, accurate shots are rewarded with fairly easy pars and birdies. It's also a pretty course in great condition. Houses are set back far enough not to be a distraction. The staff is friendly and helpful.
