With all due respect, to anyone who has lost a loved one, I would like to share my experience with Cardoza Funeral Home - Owner and Funeral Director, Mr. Joseph Conde and his staff.
On June 01, 2022 my father, Arnulfo G Cortez,. a resident of San Antonio, Texas gained his angelical wings and left to a better place.
On the following day my sibling and I were traveling to San Antonio to make funeral arrangements with his wife. As I heard conversations between them two, it sounded like my father was going towards cremation. Without offending anyone, I do not believe in cremation; and I began to think what can I do to stop their plans.
I remembered the many times I've been at Cardoza Funeral Home to attend family members' funeral services. As I was driving, I looked up the number and called the funeral home. Mr. Joseph Conde immediately returned my call and with his compassionate voice and respect for our loss, he began to help us with an affordable traditional burial.
From that moment on there were many phone calls made; and every phone call was just like that first call. You could sense Joseph's compassion and patience. He made all the arrangements to pick up my father's body from a San Antonio funeral home and bring his body back to the Rio Grande Valley.
Mr. Joseph Conde and his staff (Janie) waited patiently for us until 11:30 PM that day so that I could have the honors to cut my Dad's hair for the last time.
On the days to follow, Mr. Joseph showed all the respect for us and our loved one. He and his staff placed each boutonniere on all the pallbearers. Something I had never seen before and at the cemetery the same thing, remove each boutonniere and place it in their hands until he guided them to place it on my father's casket. The one thing that touched me the most, is that it was Mr. Joseph and his staff to be the last ones to place the dirt on my father's casket. Of so many funerals that I have personally attended, I had never seen a Funeral Director place dirt on the casket. That is called...RESPECT! Thank you, Mr. Conde and Janie.
If you or anyone is looking for a place for you loved one, I recommend Cardoza Funeral Home 100%. You will be treated with respect and dignity; and your loved one will go "Home" in...

Read moreCardoza Funeral home was highly recommended by other family members who used their services when we lost my grandpa, my aunt and my uncle in years past and I can see why.
Joseph Conde, funeral director of Cardoza Funeral Home and his wonderful staff took care of our family when we lost our dad. We had never planned a funeral before and didn’t know where to begin. He made everything so easy and took so much off my plate. He customized a package for us within our budget and arranged the rosary reading and the deacon to officiate services.
He truly went above and beyond by taking over the arrangements with the cemetery when they were making things difficult because they wouldn’t take my out of town check or credit card. Mr. Conde stepped in like a big brother and handled everything during this very stressful time. So from the bottom of my heart, Thank You! Thank You!...
