This review is based off my appointment from 2 weeks ago. The hairdresser greeted me, sat me in the chair, and then pretty much cut me off as I started to explain and was showing her pictures of the kind of hairstyle I wanted. She made me pull out my phone and told me to Google medium length hairstyles and lectured me on bob cuts for a few minutes saying how they’re timeless and always look good. This was extremely bizarre to me. She seemed very defensive when I told her that was not what I had in mind for myself. She then tried to get me over to wash my hair to get started..without me even telling her what I wanted. So I told her I didn’t want to get started without figuring out what we’re doing first.
She finally gives me a chance to show reference pictures of what I wanted but immediately said “that would be disastrous” with no real explanation, not to mention there are a million better ways to say that even if it were true. When I wouldn’t agree to her ideas right away she finally said “ok, I’ll do whatever you want” as if it was a bother to her. At that point, I just didn’t feel ok with the way she was handling the situation. She made me feel very uncomfortable and I didn’t want to risk her cutting my hair at all. This was my first ever experience dealing with that kind of attitude and lack of professionalism while getting a simple haircut. I flat out told her that I felt very uncomfortable and needed to leave. She just shrugged and rolled her eyes, but I didn’t bother saying anything else before leaving.
Perhaps I should have called to talk to a manager about my disappointing experience or something, but there was no way I would go back to this place regardless of any solution they offered. Please do your research before booking an appointment here. I noticed the other hairdresser helping a gentleman a couple chairs away seemed much more positive and professional so I’m sure my appointment does not reflect everyone’s experience here, but I would still not return if they do not train all employees equally and hold them to the...

I have been going to Fantastic Sams for roughly 10 years, from Apple Valley, Burnsville, Edina, and Eden Prairie. Whenever I move home/work locations there is a Fantastic Sams nearby. I have always thought that they have the best balance of wait time, quality, and cost. Unfortunately this location has let me down.
I walked in today and the receptionist was taking PHONE APPOINTMENTS! I thought all Fantastic Sams were walk-in only....! So while I sit in the EMPTY waiting area for my haircut someone comes in and gets to have their hair cut before me (Phone appt).... There is one strike against this location.
I finally get a seat after a lengthy wait and ask for a fade up the sides with the top cut by hand... SUPER SIMPLE! The stylist tells me it may be a higher cost depending on how long it takes?! WHAT?!?! SO INSTEAD OF BEING TOLD UPFRONT I HAVE TO SIT FOR 40 MINS AND THEN GET TOLD MY CUT MIGHT BE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN POSTED! CAN YOU SAY "BAIT AND SWITCH"!! I almost walked out but had waited this long and never had an issue with this cut before so I went for it... Strike two!
The hair cut was barely acceptable being slightly uneven from the left side to right but I could live with it. During the cut the owner himself talked to the stylist distrating her and slowing her down, her clippers stopped functioning properly, and another stylist had clipper issues and asked my stylist for help...! Strike Three!
At the register the haircut must not have been fast enough so I had to pay $6 higher than expected... I HAVE BEEN TO THIS LOCATION 3-4 TIMES AND ONLY HAD ONE HAIRCUT I LIKED. NOW YOUR STYLIST HAS TO RACE THE CLOCK OR ELSE IT COSTS YOU AN EXTRA $6.00!!!!???!?! Strike Four? Huh?
Once again I paid an extra $6.00 because my simple fade up the sides and scissors on top haircut is somehow "fancy".... Needless to say that neither myself or my three children will not be going to any Fantastic Sams with this ridiculous "race the...
Read moreMy mother originally planned to dye her hair at this salon. However, since she had temporarily applied some dye to her hair earlier in the morning, she requested to wash her hair first before proceeding with the coloring. She clearly explained this to a male hairdresser at the salon. This male hairdresser was extremely rude and impatient, and flat-out refused her request. No matter how she tried to explain, he was stubborn and uncooperative, refusing to wash her hair before coloring it. I find this kind of attitude and service completely unacceptable. What’s worse, he even lied, claiming that the other hairdresser—who had previously colored my mother’s hair—was not working today and wasn’t at the salon. But in fact, that hairdresser was indeed present and my mother even saw and spoke with her. His blatant lying and antisocial behavior is absolutely speechless and appalling. His attitude was exceptionally aggressive and disrespectful. Not only was he rude to a customer, but he also displayed an arrogant, authoritarian demeanor as if no one could challenge him. If you are the owner of this salon, I urge you to address and correct this employee’s attitude immediately. Arrogant, disrespectful people like this should not be working in the service industry. We are paying customers, not fools who give you money and tips just to be treated like this. If he doesn’t want to do this job properly, then he shouldn’t be working here at all. In the end, my mother had no choice but to leave the salon without getting the service she was supposed to receive. This is absolutely outrageous. She was definitely bullied by this guy, left feeling terrible and powerless. It is completely unacceptable that a customer is...
