If I could give them a negative star I would, it’s not deserving of one star. This is the worst place to go for a conversion of international license!! I passed my computer test and knew for a fact my international license was valid to be converted without having to do a drivers test because it is endorsed by the United Nations. At the counter I was met by a very hostile employee who I explained to verify my international license. She didn’t even take 10 seconds to flip through a book that carries samples of drivers license around the world. Before she could even tell me she could not find the country she was already writing on my permit in BOLD that it’s not in the book. I highly doubt she looked at the name of the country to confirm. I kept explaining to her what I knew for a fact, her rude answer was “you drove in your country didn’t you,do the drivers test”. Her colleague in the next counter was laughing at me. I am appalled by they’re stinking customer service and no mannerism at all. I left the building feeling crushed and humiliated, because I was treated like an idiot. I then went to Rahway Branch where I was thoroughly helped and I got my license verified and converted in the same day!! Don’t go here if you want to feel like alienated and discriminated!! It’s as if they were forced to apply for these jobs, when you’re in customer service you need to treat people with respect and...
Read moreI had to get my DL updated to REAL ID. I got an appointment 3 weeks out. I got there 10 min late but they asked everyone to line up outside. On one side were the ones who had got token numbers from before. I think the staff weren’t handing out new ones at the time I was there. Those people must’ve come like before opening time around 8:30ish. Anyway I had to wait another 20-25 min outside , since only 25 people (Max) were being allowed inside (including the workers - there were about 5 of them) . The process went relatively smooth. The lady was nice to me and explained to me why my name might be an issue and I was able to correct it before the next window could tell me I can’t get a RealID. Since I was updating I was only granted the expiration date of my current DL, so I would have to come back in a couple of years. All the staff and people were wearing masks and social distancing was being implemented. I saw staff help people out who were new to Jersey, which was good to see. By the time I left (around 11- there were around 15 people lined up outside) I’m not certain if they got new tokens or from the morning. My only gripe is some people were being prioritized over others who were there earlier. Good experience overall especially in...
Read moreIt's a ridiculous place with racist employees. On October 26th at 2 p.m., an African American lady yelled at us at the front door. The reason was that we wanted to change the title of our car, but the MVC here could not do it. It should have been a very simple matter to solve. The lady acted ridiculously like a racist. She clearly had a map of all the MVCs in NJ, but she was unwilling to give it to us. We asked her the name of the MVC, but she kept refusing to tell us. The third time she even told us to get out of the MVC. It seems that she didn't mean she didn't want to tell us the name of the MVC, it was probably because she only had an elementary school education, she didn't even know how to spell the word, so she acted like a racist to demonstrate her inferiority. Regardless of whether this lady is a racist, I doubt the professionalism of the MVC in personnel utilization. Even if you don't promote "smiley faces", it is very interesting to let someone who can't even spell a word take a demanding position in the...
