This was our second year staying in cabin five for a downeast, three generation family vacation. Seven of us enjoyed a relaxing five night stay. The cabin was clean, roomy and well stocked with all the kitchen gadgets we needed to prepare family meals. When we first arrived we noted a few things we needed (paper towels and a pot scrubber, extra rolls of toilet paper) and Teresa brought them right over. If you have a large party and plan to stay awhile you should expect to provide some of your own paper products. We went through a lot and did need to go out and buy some to supplement what was provided. Outdoor temperatures varied widely during our stay but we stayed comfortable on cool evenings with a crackling fire, cool with fans during the warmer days, and cozy on cool mornings with the monitor heater. The cabin also has a giant wood stove which looks like it would heat nicely during colder months. There are so many beautiful coastal locations to visit nearby. My brother lives in Perry so we spent some time there. Sipp Bay preserve is a must see natural location. Go at low tide for fun tide pool exploring. Gleason cove is another nearby location for tide pooling and a salt water swim. There's also paddling on the river or pond and fishing and swimming and outdoor games like horse shoes and badminton. All the other five star reviews have it right...quaint, rustic, quiet and relaxing in a beautiful...
Read moreWe had such a nice stay at Robinson’s Cottages a few months ago, and we would love to return some day. It’s the perfect place to get away and get a break from work and life. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, and the cabin was clean and comfortable. There’s tons of things to do, most of which are more geared towards a summer stay, but many that are still enjoyable even in cooler months. We really enjoyed canoeing up and down the river, and we saw everything from river otters to bald eagles during our stay. There is also WiFi in many of the cabins, if you need to stay connected, but there’s definitely enough to do if you need a break from the Internet.
The only downside to our stay was that we were cursed with a cold snap for the entire time, so we had to run the heater that, unfortunately, made a horrible screeching racket the entire stay. The owners did try to accommodate us, though, and we really appreciated that! If you are coming to stay during the colder months, I might recommend choosing one of the cabins that include a wood stove.
It’s been a long time since we’ve stayed in a cabin, and we had a really nice...
Read more07/02/2019 As we load up our car in preparation for our departure, we leave a wonderfully, peaceful cottage that we hope we'll be able to come back to some day. I really can't put into words the joy my bride and I felt during these very short past two days here but we know if at all possible, will return. Although, a bit rainy for part of the stay, we were treated to a wonderfully, starry evening allowed by the view from the front porch which also offers the openness of the gently-sloping field out front. Tucked in against a backdrop of evergreen trees, we felt we had a reasonably private place to relax from the industrialized society out and away from here.
If you decide to come here for a stay as we have, you will not be at all disappointed. We only hope you all reading this post won't book Cottage up completely this coming Fall as we'd like to come back. So, leave us a small opening in September. ;-) Thumbs-up my post if you liked it and thumbs-up my post if you didn't...
