Unfortunately I have gone here twice to have animals slaughtered and had the same problem both times. They did not give me everything in my order. The first time they forgot to give me all the organ meats and bones for a cow I had slaughtered. The guy who came out to load the meat into my truck was tweaking hard. Definitely methed up. They gave me organ meats from somebody else's animal to try and make up for it. However, I am an organic meat producer so meat from an unknown source doesn't solve the problem. Thankfully I looked to confirm whether everything was there. I also found meat in the box with someone else's name on it. This time I brought in 3 sheep to be slaughtered. My customers specifically asked to retain the bones so I made sure it was written on the cut sheet. When I went to pick it up, the bones were not in the order again. I asked about the organ meats as well, and they had to run back inside to look for them. The owner came out and gave me every excuse in the book for why thebones werenot retained duch as: the butchers don't speak English, it was the new girl's fault, the guy who butchered my sheep moved back to mexico. etc. In fact the first time I experienced this problem, they also told me the butcher had moved back to Mexico. I told him this was the second time it happened and ask if this was going to happen again in the future and he just shugged his shoulders and told me "this is part of the business." On top of all that I had initially called almost a week after the butchering was expected to happen to see if my order was ready and they told me the lambs had been butchered the day before and they were working on the ground meat that day. Why would ground meat be done on a different day? The ground meat was also super lean, even compared to the ground lamb i had processed there before, so I'm guessing they didn't retain any fat to add to the ground meat. I simply cannot trust these guys with my customer's meat. I'm having to take the hit to satisfy my customers for this neglect and the owner didn't even offer a discount, just expects me to be happy with "This is just part of the business". Unbelievable. I gave them a second shot and it was the same unorganized mess as...
Read moreI dropped off my steer per appointment made by phone on 2/26. Usually takes about 21 days to get meat back. I started calling about ETA on my meat 3/19, was told butcher wasn’t in at the moment and they didn’t know anything. Called again on 4/1. Spoke with 2 different people but main person being the cutter. He assured me that he had 3 pigs to do then would do my steer on weds morning freeze it thurs and I could pick it up Friday. I asked for sure guaranteed Friday the 5th? Was told yes. I got there on the 5th to pick it up and they hadn’t even started it. The lady had trouble locating my cut sheets and again promised my steer would be ready Monday the 8th. She lived in Danevang and would even deliver it. Monday no call I call them not ready pick it up tomorrow. Go for pick up on the 9th my meat was not frozen , I wasn’t given a receipt or copy of my cut sheet. And the lady I talked to Friday that said it would be ready Monday totally grabbed her purse and left when I got there. Only a young guy presumably a helper? Brought my meat to my truck in boxes I said no I want it in my coolers. So seems like they tried to hide the fact it wasn’t frozen. Packed date on labels is 4/8/24 Did they slaughter my steer and freeze him then thaw him to cut them refreeze? Did they slaughter him then leave him hanging for 6 weeks trim off bad meat and give me less than I paid for? Did they “lose” my steer? And give me some other beef? Staff and owners didn’t seem to care just excuse after excuse never the same one. Meat was not cut according to my cut sheet either. This was labeled T bones. Not my first time using them but the first time being...
Read moreI was hopeful they could meet my butchering needs. I was disappointed. I am a rancher. I select a premium steer and finish it to my specifications. I have been doing this for many years. When I take in a steer I want MY beef not just any beef and I want all of it. They seem so disorganized it was extremely disappointing. They do not have a system to keep customers orders, straight. I have been forced to look elsewhere for a...
