Hi, me and my colleagues came to the US on a deployment as ally forces to the US army. We spend most of our time at Fort Bliss and we're a little shy when it comes to interacting with locals because of our weak level of English proficiency (in terms of speaking).
We love Americans and have been to various states where we were met with nothing but mutual respect.
About a month ago, me and my 3 colleagues decided to visit this bowling place inside the base, and an employee (I think her name was Sonya) behind the counter, for no reason, gave us the weirdest treatment ever. When she first received us at the counter, she kept talking down to us, acting as if we were there to play using her own money. She talked to us as if we were cavemen children.
All she does is interrupt us, ignore us, roll her eyes over us. We don't even try to provoke her or reciprocate the same energy she's giving us. Yet she appears to dislike our existence.
Another week passes by, and I invite another colleague of mine to the same place, but I did not tell him about the behavior of the woman behind the counter, just to see if he would catch her attitude the same way me and my previous colleagues did.
My colleague was shocked at the horrible and awful treatment. We left the place devastated and angry. Devastated because she's completely unprovoked and angry because we cannot reciprocate and defend ourselves considering we are guests here.
By the way, we noticed that once the woman handles other visitors in the place, she welcomes them with smiles, laughs and respect, but when we come, she's the total opposite. What can we do about this? It...
Read moreI always enjoy the on base bowling centers. Here is one of the largest ones I have seen on a military installation. They have done very well at maintaining the lanes and balls. It's always very clean. And in the wake of COVID, they still manage to make you feel clean and safe. Sundays are the bowl all you can deal. They have your standard array of food and drinks. The beer selection is decent: your American classics, plus your Mexican classics. You won't find anything special here on that department, but the prices are reasonable. Food was probably where they stumble. The pizzas are decent (again, standard fare nothing special) but the rest of the menu is bland at best. Plain hot dog, grilled cheese, hamburger and some variations. I chose the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was served lacking more than a quick drip of sauce; I had to ask for more so that I could actually cover the chicken. In any case, you don't go here for great food, you come to bowl and this place is a modern, clean,...
Read moreBest lanes in El Paso by FAR.
Went during the Saturday Nightz Glow Bowling with a few friends, which was a fantastic experience. The lanes were great on oil pattern, the pinspotters never failed in the 3 hours we were there. Staff is awesome at this place.
This is also the only local center that has "per-game" pricing and "HyperBowling" which I haven't had the chance to try.
The food was awesome, even for how low they charge. It also left the kitchen super fast.
If you take bowling seriously and/or want to bowl somewhere that actually cares for their lanes, come here. Will return more regularly and may even sign up for league.
If you're a civilian like myself, you're gonna need to get a Community Access Pass since the center is on-post. Ask the Buffalo or Chaffee VCC about it for more info. (too much for me to post...
