Snyders Meats — Local services in Eldred Township

Caught word of this place from a friendly local conversation about food, so, hearing "Apple Sausage", of course I needed THAT in my life! What I found after an epic drive thru beautiful rolling hills was a lovely farm and farmhouse, and a small, but well kept store with your basic needs, and the sweet smells of carefully smoking meat sneaking out the side! And then...I enter, and had conversations with some wonderful people, who, hearing it was my first visit, gave me a rundown of what they had, in addition to a small sampling of some of their most popular items. I can say with no hesitation if you're reading this, you're close enough to be going there, as you should! The sausage is every bit as delicious as I imagined, and they also offer smoked cheeses (incredible), bacon, Canadian bacon, ground meats and sausages, and what is likely the best beef jerky I've ever had. They have so much more, and even though I haven't tried it all (yet), I'm confident it's definitely of the highest freshness and quality you'll find. Anywhere. Now, I'm going to circle back. I have a home nearby that we don't yet live in yet full time, this is my retirement plan. So, I'm based in the southern Jersey/ Philadelphia area. Again, no B.S. here, the sausage and cheeses offered here could EASILY command triple what I paid if they were in SJ/Philly, and probably not as good. My wife's in the food business, she'd know best, and agrees all day long and twice on Sunday. The jerky seems the priciest of anything there, but is well worth it, and actually is still less than what you get in a bag at the truck stop when you actually compare. And it's local, and realistically "homemade". Hopefully this helps. Please if you're reading this, do go and visit. You, your taste buds, and your wallet won't regret it. Not....one....bit.... 12/21/23. I don’t have much education when it comes to butcher meats. I’ve been to this place twice since moving in to the area. All I can say is that it’s wonderful. The people here the best. Their meats are awesome. I have other butchers where I live but I’ll spend the extra minutes to drive to Snyder’s. Today I came in with a list my wife wanted. The two lovely and friendly girls that worked there legit helped me out 100%. Awesome job. Thank you for everything and will be back again no...

My fiancé and I love this butcher shop! We miss them at the Crossroads! Well worth the trip though for the absolute best beef jerky ever! No butcher shop's jerky comes even remotely close to Snyder's. Their burger meat is awesome too.. along with their bacon, beef stick, smoked cheese! Everything there is awesome. Keep in mind that they are cash only...
