It’s hard to know where to start with this team. In short - it’s in the name… if you want a professional install of all things AV - do not hesitate to hire them. If you want more details, read on.

We had Brian F and his team which included Emily, Brian, Gary, and one other guy whose name I can’t recall. We asked for a theater in our basement, but without its own room. We have an open basement so only a portion could be dedicated to a theater. We wanted over the top… borderline too much for the space. I had ideas and must haves… but after expert consultation and after seeing a their show room, adjustments were made. I trusted Brian’s recommendations and am very glad. We have a 120 inch screen with a short throw projector in a ridiculously nice cabinet that keeps it protected, opening only when you turn it on. There are twelve speakers all in the walls or hidden in the ceiling that you can barely see. When I say it’s like a n actual theater, it doesn’t quite do it justice. This thing will rock your world.

As for service - they are excellent. They began installation very quickly (within 10 days of coming up with a plan) and had it done in under a week. They had to install speakers behind shelves with our kids’ legos in the way. The legos were neatly lined up on the floor which had to have taken about 10 minutes of their day. Topnotch Home Theater installed by Experts Our family loves a good movie and we love watching them in the older style movie theaters but they seem to be vanishing, giving way to the newer multiplex theaters with what I call “Coma Lounger” seating so we decided to have our own home theater built in our basement. I checked with many contractors and several recommended the same audio/video company, “AUDIO VIDEO SPECIALIST” Gilberts, IL. I called them and Dan came out to see what we had in mind but mainly to listen to what we wanted for an end result. He did the survey of the basement himself and we received the bid from him in person, allowing us to go over everything within and he was able to answer all of our questions. He definitely listened to everything my wife and I wanted as you will see in the photos. We agreed to the bid and put them to work – Dan overseen everything, from pre-wire, equipment installation and programming everything to a single remote control. WOW!!! I first met Dan in 2009 when he set up a Sunfire 5.2 system in my family room at my home in Woodstock. I liked the system so much that I had him install the same in my basement viewing area. Both systems ROCKED for movies and music. Party-goers often commented that the dance music sounded great. :-)

Fast forward to 2022 and I have moved to McHenry. I was in the market for a 77” OLED and a Sonos sound bar (doing a minimalist audio system at the new house). I contacted Dan and he remembered me from 2009. We talked about how I want the display and sound bar mounted on the wall with minimal drywall cutting and to hide all of the cables. He knew exactly what I wanted.

Tom and Gary came to the house and went over the install plan with me. They took the time to have a vacuum follow the drywall cutter to ensure no dust in the house. After mounting the TV and sound bar, they set up the Smart TV and Sonos system. It was a great experience working with them both.

Everything turned out great! I am really pleased with how clean the look is on the wall, it’s just what I wanted.

I am going to have AVS back out this summer to help design an outdoor audio system for my new deck, pergola, and fire pit area.
