A word of caution. We are seniors and after traveling for hours, as you would on a trip, I guess our legs were stiff. But I'm sure we aren't the only ones. The curbs here are higher than most any I've seen. I expect a curb is something you could pull your car up to and the bumper would clear it easily. Well, fortunately for that, I didn't pull too far ahead. After looking, if I had, I would have left the faring there. It's half way up it. It's High enough that when my wife stepped off it, the distance was a surprise and she stumbled to the ground and shattered her arm bone. We got to Marietta and Selby Memorial Hospital to find it had to be operated on to fix. She went thru hell! All for the sake of the dam high curb. So my review is about curbs, which may not be what you expect, we sure didn't! And no one was around to help! Needless to say it interrupted our good time. Otherwise it is a pretty small rest area. And otherwise well maintained, but no paint to differentiate the higher than normal curbs. Be careful pulling up! Be even more careful about...
Read moreThe place was clean and I always appreciate having a rest stop while driving long distances, BUT what was up with those toilets??? I was in the lady's side and the top of the toilet was about even with my waist. I am 5'7, there is absolutely no way someone shorter would be able to use the toilet. It looks like something happened in the past and they raised all of the toilets (plywood showing and tiles missing). I had to stand on my tippy toes to be able to use a toilet. I have never seen that before. My husband said the men's side was the same way. He is taller than me and he went to the handicap stall and still had a hard time using the toilet. There were no sidebars in the handicap stall in the men's side. I hope they fix their plumbing issues and lowered the toilets so children and shorter people...
Read moreWhy are the restrooms at this location inundated with FLIES & mosquitoes?? WHY?
This is the ONLY rest area on I-70 between Prairie City IN & Breezewood PA (where we get off from I-76) that in the temperate months of the year is ALWAYS/CONSISTENTLY infested with flies and/or mosquitoes?!?! Fix it.
The facilities are dated/run down. A toilet used wobbled when sat on. The facility itself is worn and tired and it exuberanty shows it. The coffee vending machine was out of order AGAIN! This makes the 4th time in 5 months. Might not seem like a lot but it has been out of order 100% of the time we've been there. You might say, 'then why stop there'? To be honest that seems consistently be when our deerhound indicates when she needs to relieve herself. YES we do...
