I was in the market for some fishing gear with minimal knowledge on what I was looking for. I stopped in and spoke with the owner, Alex was very knowledgeable and very helpful with every question I had. He walked me through every step with kindness, ease, and hospitality. By far I wish I could give 10/5 stars! I never felt pressured to make a purchase! I was given many options on lures, baits, and tackle. Alex walked me through the purpose of every piece of the puzzle. My experience was not only amazing but I feel as though Appalachian Outfitters is a place to feel like the old days of a first name basis and a place to be welcomed. I will definitely be returning and spreading the word as if you were in the market for fishing gear, apparel, hiking gear and camping gear this is the place to stop!! All pricing is unbeatable with a good selection of products. I found a good selection of local made products and quality gear as well! I would highly recommend stopping in and seeing Alex...

Alex (owner) is very friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to share his knowledge and tips for fishing in this area. There is an AMAZING variety of flies at the fly bar, a good selection of rods, reels and lines in addition to spinning gear and tackle. Alex's desire is to make fishing available to everyone and his affordable, quality products are certainly geared to that desire!
