River dog Adventures was a Blast! I was looking for something to do and called them up on a whim and bam! They said just get here by this time and we will accommodate you but not before they explained I could do more than just tube and even rent kayaks! I was excited to find out that I can bring my dog with me too! (Not aggressive no need for wrangling) I will be taking my boy back with me soon for a nice day out. The staff was all friendly and welcoming they even provided a great lil snack for us. Our raft guide was Daniel and he was great from going over safety and sharing some history along the way he made it comfortable by breaking the ice with everyone and allowing us all to talk and enjoy and work as a team while paddling. Daniel was best part of the trip he even shared his sunscreen with some who did not come prepared. As an “expert” water tubing aficionado, I would highly recommend River Dog for a float down the Watauga river. They were extremely helpful and positive for the whole experience. Between helping you get into and out of the river, keeping your keys for you while you float and answering any questions we may have had, the staff was always pleasant and attentive. The float took 2-3 hours and kept you in nature the whole way. Make sure to take snacks, drinks, sunblock and good water shoes but if you forget something, they probably have it for purchase at the store where you check in! What a great day! The check in is quick and the gift store is adorable. Hopefully you meet the mascot “Biscuit” a super sweet golden retriever ❤️ .. Now to the tubing adventure. . a quick instruction and what to expect as you get your life vest. Load into the bus for a short ride to your drop off and a few pointers on how to use your paddle, (this was a must have don’t forget your paddle). It does come in handy, I love to look for pretty rocks so it makes a perfect brake to grab any potential keepers.
