Elk Mountain cabins
Elk Mountain Cabins are more like an AirBnB than a simple cabin rental. Our cabin was clean and bug-free and had a well equipped kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and oven. There was good water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. The towels and flannel sheets were good quality. Even though it was below freezing outside, the cabin was warm and comfortable. The Wi-Fi (6!) was sufficiently fast to run a 4K TV (which we brought with us) and other devices simultaneously. The beautiful property even has a walk-in cooler for the successful hunter's use! Finally, there is Lou, the proprietress. She is wonderful! Accommodating, helpful, and kind. She takes an interest in her guests but also gives you plenty of space so as not to overwhelm. She gave us drinking water when she found out we had forgotten to bring some and she loaned us tools to make a minor truck repair. I will definitely be back as soon as I draw...
Read moreI am about a year late with this review. We came here during the pandemic last year to escape the city for a few days.
First, Lou is a great host and incredibly personable. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our stay. Not only was the cabin in great shape, but had all the amenities needed. This place is very dog friendly which we were so excited about, the owners themselves have two great pyrenese that are extremely friendly.
There is tons of wildlife throughout the small town and is a short drive to Medicine Bow National forest.

I'll definitely win the next family reunion. Friendly owner with friendly cats and dogs. We got her last tomatoes and the neighbors eggs for breakfast, delicious!
