Lake State Recycling — Local services in Elk River

Unbelievably disappointed. I brought in 2 vehicle loads of 10/10 extrusion aluminum that I've been saving up for the past year. When I got I there, I asked to make sure it's 10/10 before unloading because it was my first time using this shop and everywhere else has always taken this exact metal as such, even with random screws in some of the pieces. I asked to make sure before unloading and was told yes, I would still be paid for 10/10.

After unloading into a couple bins they took it all back inside to weigh in the garage. After all was said and done, I was handed a receipt which I started to question because it was Literally Hundreds of dollars less than expected, but the guy just put a piece of paper into a machine that spit out some cash, and said that was all it's worth. I was given $.50/lb. Even plain aluminum cans there were $.55/lb.

I spent a year sifting thru aluminum on jobs, only grabbing and saving specific high quality pieces and took most of the screws out, it was 2 vehicles loaded full of the highest quality stuff.

I left feeling so ripped off. I feel it was a very dishonest dealing, because I asked BEFORE unloading all my aluminum if it would be calculated as 10/10. The man looked over the pieces and assured that yes, I "Would get paid for 10/10 extrusion - even with the little bit of screws." To tell me the price I'd get paid was highest for aluminum then after taking it actually hand me the lowest price, it just felt so shady and dishonest.

If you want reliable and honest customer service, I'd try another center.

I almost gave 2 stars, but only because the guy who brought the loading recepacles and looked over the aluminum was very nice.. but losing hundreds of dollars by choosing this center doesn't deserve any stars...

Arrived at 4:35 for the first time. Parked my van and guy in forklift was helping someone parked next to me and had dropped him off a bin. I walked toward customer entrance a forklift guy started talking to me but I couldn't hear him. I walked closer and he yelled for me to get back. I looked around to see what the danger was but saw none and he said to get back again. I told him it was my first time and again he yelled to get back this was a restricted area. I asked him what I need to do and he told me to go back to my vehicle and he would come to me. Whew. Nice greeting. There were no signs saying restricted area or anything like that so I went back and waited for him. A few minutes later he drove over and asked what I had. I explained to him I had some cans but mostly painted aluminum siding and gutters. He said he'd have to get me a couple bins and left. I started getting things unstrapped and was separating items and he comes back saying now I was too late and would have to come back on Monday. Sorry I...

I bought a ton of equipment from the director Richard busby. Paid in full august 8th via wire transfer the equipment promised was broken and damaged and out of 50 units 11 were doa. The other were half were missing ram and hdds. Waited another almost month after and out of 50 Macbooks I ordered only 36 came 3 were doa was promised going on 6 months that they would make it right. Nothing but bs comes out of his mouth. He is a fraudulent and pulls bate and switch. In the process of getting a attorney to handle this mater. Would never do...
