Let me tell you about Knox Raceway. Knox Raceway is a newly reopened 3/8 mile track owned by former sprint car driver Brian Cowboy Steinman and his wife Brianna. It is conveniently nestled just a few miles off of Interstate 80 in Knox PA. I attended Knox for the first time on July 31 for a show consisting of 305 sprints, RUSH wingless sprints and 270cc micro sprints. As a fan that has been to almost 30 tracks in the past 10 years there are a few things at the top of my priority list when deciding what track I am going to travel to for the day.
At the top of my list is time management. Yes I'm attending to enjoy a full night of racing but I am not looking to be at a track until after midnight trying to watch a 4 class show. Knox Raceway managed to run 3 full classes of sprint cars in a 3 hour time span. Racing started promptly on time and intermission was roughly 15 mins. This was incredible.
Another thing I take note of is food quality, price and the length of time to get through the concession line. Sadly there are tracks where I only eat what I take in with me or eat ahead of time. I sampled several food items from Knox with my family and was impressed by every one of them. I also moved quickly through the line every time. I highly recommend dining at the track.
Now let's talk seating. We've all been to tracks where you are crawling over the person next to you to get out of the stands. Knox has an awesome setup with benches that actually give you room to easily walk past someone sitting in your row. If you prefer a lawn chair there is a large hill in turn 1 where you can set those up as well. Also let me highlight their huge handicap accessible seating patio and the several picnic tables where you can sit and dine if you'd like.
While I could go on more let me last talk about the racing surface. As a fan the surface looked racey with drivers able to run more than 1 line around the track. Each class had great competition made better by the surface. The surface also looked phenomenal when we arrived at 430. Kudos to the track for making prep a priority early in the day.
As the one Junior Sprint car winner said in his victory lane interview "put the pedal to the medal" and get yourselves to Knox to support this effort from the Steinman family. I...

If I had any critique it would be could use more port a John's or more bathrooms in general. Other then that it's a great time ! You can bring food and drinks in or buy pretty good pizza there or other simple options hot dogs...
