Great spot to launch kayaks (my preference), canoes, small boats and tubes. Bigger boats might not work, it's a narrow, short launch and not real deep.
They lock the gate to the actual ramp at sunset, but you can park in the exterior fenced area (open access from the road, no gate) and there's a walkthrough gate big enough to carry a canoe or kayak through to get to and from the ramp. Take off north from the launch and you're in Baugo Bay which empties into the St. Joe River. Take off south and you can paddle up Baugo Creek. The creek is lazy and winding, lots of wildlife, a mix of sun and shade, very peaceful every time...

I saw several otters near this launch spot as well as turtles and an Ospray as well as a ton of Canadian geese which didn't like the look if me. The feeling was mutual. I'm not sure how I would recommend dropping of larger vessles into the water here as it seemed rather shallow, but it is absolutely perfect for kayaks or canoes. It's also got plenty of room to park vechials here. I recommend this launch. 10/10 would shimmy into the water here again. Read moreIt is a nice spot to launch a boat. It isn't a good spot at all to fish from the bank if you're just stopping by to cast out after a rough day. No bites on any bait (I don't use worms, just lures) from any of the accessable shoreline. But I will be launching a boat or kayak from this point soon to see how wet the water is on the other side...
