They have things squared away really nice and you don’t have to worry about backing into the dock. They take care of all that it was really well organized. I’ve only given it three stars because of the placard they had posted in the dispatch office. I have attached a picture and it am am writing this to express concern about a sign posted at the shipping window of your facility in Virginia, which states: “Commercial drivers who cannot speak English can be arrested.”
While I understand and respect the need for safety and compliance with federal regulations and your frustrations, dealing with people who are learning our language and culture. I believe this sign is both misleading and potentially discriminatory toward hard-working commercial drivers—many of whom are doing their best to provide for their families under difficult circumstances.
Under 49 CFR §391.11, English proficiency is indeed a requirement for interstate commercial drivers. However, the language used on this sign implies that drivers who do not speak English may face arrest, which is not accurate in most cases. Violations of language requirements typically result in fines or administrative actions, not criminal arrest.
Additionally, this kind of signage can create a hostile and intimidating environment for non-native English speakers. It fails to recognize that if a driver was issued a CDL without meeting English proficiency standards, the accountability lies with the issuing agency or training institution, not the individual driver. Many such drivers are simply trying to do honest work to support their families.
I respectfully urge your facility to: Review the language of the sign to ensure it reflects the law accurately and respectfully. Consider the human dignity of the men and women who pass through your doors daily. Promote safety without fear or misinformation.
Our country’s economy depends on the labor of commercial drivers from all walks of life. Let’s hold systems accountable, not scapegoat the individuals caught in their failings.
Thank you for your time and attention. I hope this message is received in the spirit of mutual respect and shared...
Read moreFirst time here. Truckers, you pull in then there is a sharp left bend then go by drivers check in building on your left. Pull up to stop sign. You'll see driver's lounge building on your right which is the same size building as drivers check-in building on your back left. They say don't get out of your truck until you're up to the stop sign. Then you walk over to drivers check in building. They say you should wear safety vest, I wore mine but I saw a lot of drivers that didn't. Check in is very easy. They will tell you where to drop your trailer. Slide tandems to rear & open doors. You'll then bobtail to a staging area depending where your at on the property. You wait until they call you. Then you go get your trailer supposed to be where you dropped it off & hook up. Set your tandems per the load and drive onto scale by driver check in. Walk in & bring in your red seal & metal seal. Sign paperwork..Put metal seal on trailer doors and your done. Check-in check-out was fairly smooth & the people are nice. I'm giving them three stars because I was there all day...

Pickup: I've come here to pickup a few times and they usually take around 2hours to load my trailer.
Backing: drop trailer in nice open drop yard and yard jockey puts your trailer in the door for you
Check in/out process: pull into either two lanes up to the stop sign and walk into guard shack to check in. They will tell you to move your tandems back and where to drop your trailer and then bobtail to tractor parking. Upon checkout, make sure you bring your seal that was on the back of the trailer that you would have to break to secure the load and also bring the seal that is on the inside of the trailer and they will give you your paperwork at the same guard shack for check in.
Overnight parking: Yes, but don't hook up to your trailer until you're ready to go
Additional info: they have a scale you can scale out at, no need to get a cat scale. I've never been...
