Reading all the reviews already left I feel like maybe my experience was a one off.

To start let me set the scene. I was a heavy MTG player about 15 years ago. I enjoyed going to game stores and participating in game nights, meeting friends and getting boosters, lots of great memories. I recently found my MTG collection (1200ct cards so far) and decided to get back into collecting and possibly playing. I have recently bought a gift box set of the new Spider-Man collab. I have realized i am way behind on times with playing the game. Luckily a new game store opened recently in Ellettsville. I planned to start my weekend stopping in and getting a feel for the place. In hopes that I can find a place to become a regular and buying my boosters. Since I am a little more focused on collecting, I am buying the collectors booster packs. I was just looking for a place to find information and possibly a place to hang out play magic and buy cards. I did not feel like this was too high of an expectation. Now here is my experience: I came in around 5pm this afternoon. I had a set of questions i was wanting to ask and while I was there I was hoping to find that they sell the collectors booster packs so i could buy a pack and possibly a few regular boosters. When I walked in there were no customers and no one at the front. None of that is a big deal I figured the employee was stocking or such. And with no customers I figured someone would have a few extra seconds to answer some of my questions. A few seconds later a young lady came to the counter and asked if she could help. She was nice but she seemed rushed. I started to tell her about my experience pulling a 500$ card last week. I had questions on how I should properly store it to best protect it, hopefully leaning into a conversation about the game itself and what’s changed in the last decade. I was also in a market for a protective case. Hoping that if they didn't have one that maybe i could be pointed in a direction for one. This was one question out of quite a few I had since I’ve been out of the game for 15yrs. A lot of things have changed since i stopped playing and was hoping to just be able to talk to someone about all of this. We never got past the first question unfortunately. The employee seemed rushed through that question. I did not feel like my question was even addressed. So I figured I would just google my questions and at least buy some boosters and go. I ended up buying a collectors booster and two regular boosters. I was really hoping to just have a conversation with someone about Magic. It’s a niche hobby and not a lot of people in my personal life cares let alone have information. Ultimately I was in search of a new place to hang out buy boosters, talk to like minded individuals who also enjoy the game. Essentially a new place to come and hang out and be a regular. Unfortunately I did not get a good first impression. It turns out on my way out the door I peeked into the game room area to kinda check it out to find a game in progress with one empty seat and the game at a stand still. Turns out they were waiting for the employee to come back and reenter the game. So it left me with the impression that the employees game comes before customer service.

I really wanted this to work out. I was very disappointed when I left. I spent all morning anticipating this and really looking forward to talking to someone about a game that not a lot of people in my personal life plays. Left feeling let down to say the least. Not sure if I will give this place another try. Was going to leave one star but you guys at least had collectors boosters, which I’ve had a hard time finding at the price you have them at. Came for penny sleeves and card storage boxes only to find neither. Sure, I can order them on Amazon. However, I was hoping to buy in-store and local. Prices are jacked to deter scalping. Trades rates were 50% which is crazy when the product price already gouged out my left eye. Nonetheless, I agreed to an atrocious trade in order to support a new local business.
