I was given a free 3 months when my son attended the YMCA in Vernon for Pre K. Due to water damage at the school. I was in a car accident so I have not yet renewed my membership. I have been going to the ECHN physical therapy office that's located in the building. Because I go there for physical therapy I can utilize the childcare. When I first started attending PT, they came and asked my physical therapist if I really had an appointment there?? Why would I be pretending to have an appointment? Then I was questioned about wether I waned to renew my membership. I have a bulged disk, so I can not currently work out. So a gym membership would not make sense for me right now. I've been very disappointed lately with the unprofessionalism of the staff lately and especially the fact that every time I go to PT either its full or no one is in there. They seem to have a continual issue with staff not showing up for work. Or they don't even pay attention sometimes to the fact that the staff has not even shown up. They must not be paying the staff much because the child at are (especially the infant side) is very dirty. My 1 year old now has "hand foot mouth"and I can't help but think that it was from here. The place is not cleaned properly and prob due to lack or staff or the fact they don't pay them enough. Also, there seems to be lots of inconsistency regarding the strict rules of allowing kids that are sick I . I've seen multiple children that looks like they have colds just by appearance. Shame on those parents that would put other kids at risk for there own...
Read moreI have been going to this Y since it has opened. The older reviews would be correct at that time, however in the past year or so the Y has really taken a turn for the worse. They don't clean the pools as often as they used to. The warm water pool has large patches of algae in it. In the summer it grows on the back side of the pool and in the winter at the base of the handicap ramp in the pool.
The family changing room is nice, however when I go with my son there are always a few couples in the changing room that do not have children with them. Some staff will boot them out of the changing room, some are afraid to. Also yesterday I spotted a large patch of mold in the family changing room.
Also a lot of the equipment in the changing rooms it not that well maintained. Showers are always leaking, running out of hot water, no towel racks, the spinner for bathing suits either never works or doesn't stop. In the mens changing room one of the toilets has been leaking for over 2 years now.
Some of the equipment in the gym is new, only took all the treadmills to break down. But a lot of it shows it's age and is on the verge of breaking. I stay away from the stationary bikes, they makes all sorts of noises.
Outside of the people at the counter when you walk in there is a severe lack of customer service. They seem to make policy up on the fly to suit their needs. They don't seem to care about going out of their way to resolve issues or assist the members.
Shop around and check out other gyms before coming here, there are...
Read moreI have my child in the 2 year program. Our teacher Miss Bethany Baker and the center staff are very sincere and kind and respond to any questions any time of the day. I really appreciate the amazing work she is doing. She is very sincere, dedicated, caring and kind - and our child really enjoys going to her class and learning so much stuff both cognitive and behavioral. The assistant teachers Miss Pallavi, Miss Clara, Miss Lisa, Miss Marlos, Miss Minerva (that's what our child says) in this class are extremely kind and take care of the kids very well. My child had lot of separation anxiety in the beginning but now always loves to go back to school and play and learn with the teachers. And I can't forget to mention the immense help they do in potty training the kids. The teachers never forget to give us written daily report on our child's activities and food habits on top of teaching the kids. It is amazing to understand the progress our kids make, day by day. She also emails summary of the weekly / monthly activities. Thanks for the wonderful and unsolicited support. I would thoroughly recommend any friend to register their kid to Indian...
