Pedal Boat Pub — Local services in Elmwood Charter Township

My in laws were coming in from New York and I had been telling them about Pedal Boat Pub. They thought it sounded like a lot of fun and all booked a time to go while they were here. 4 days before their tour, there was a death in the family, and they had to cancel. My mother in law called and spoke with one of the owners and she said that their policy is that she would open up the seats and if they rebooked them she would get her money back or if there was bad weather she would get her money back. Well the owner never did open up the seats we checked multiple times throughout those days. I was feeling so horrible that they were dealing with a death and were going to loose hundreds of dollars. As luck would have it the day and time that they were scheduled to go out on their tour a massive thunderstorm rolled in for about a half hour. So my mother in law emailed the owner and she said that she would still not give her a refund, but maybe they would let her transfer the tour to another date, really they all live in New York and the owner has known this the whole time. When we learned we would be hosting a delegation of community activists from Belarus (thanks to Global Ties-Detroit and USAID), we knew we wanted their experience of Lake Orion to be something they would always remember. That's why we reached out to Marcella of the Pedal Boat Pub. Together, she and Zack treated our guests to a fun-filled 90-minute tour, including historic facts about local landmarks and the best part, karaoke! Our guests marveled at the beauty of the lake while enjoying a boxed lunch and singing along to songs from their homeland, as well as the old standards like Piano Man by Billy Joel and ABBA's Dancing Queen. Needless to say, we all had a blast and our guests went home with memories they won't soon forget! I own a boat (up north on a different lake) and as we all know... most boaters drink all day and drive their boats! THIS BOAT IS THE SAFE WAY TO HAVE FUN ON A LAKE!! Also each ride is 1.5 hours...so honestly even the PASSENGERS pedalling for power really don't get crazy drunk! Come on!
