Harvest Supermarket — Local services in Elwood

I love supporting local business. I love small town mom and pop stores like harvest. I’ve loved it so much that I drive 25 miles from home to shop here. If they have what you want in the store, it’s great. If you ask them to order something that they claim they can order for you, you may rethink that idea. This is what happened to me. I went in a week ago to ask if they could order something for me. I was told yes, they could. I was instructed to come back in a week to pick it up, which I did. I arrived to do some shopping and to pick up my order. At the end of my visit, I have to ask about my order. I am then instructed that they can’t order it after all and that I will need to settle with what they have. This place has been selling expired items for years. I thought I would give them another chance. After all, it has been well over ten years since I last came. Well, the coffee creamer section was full of expired items. I checked until I found a flavor I liked that wasn't expired. I opened it up the next day to use. And it smells rancid, and was clumpy. I'm not asking for my money back. But, I wanted to make others aware of what this store does, before you waste your hard earned money here like I just did. There are obviously no standards here! I previously gave this company a good review. However my dealings with corporate office and elwood store has soured me. On March 27 they double billed me 25.40. Now corporate said they deleted one. However i talked to my bank deleting a payment that has settled does nothing . They have 2 payment and refuse to refund one know 2 other people that this happened to me in Elwood another in fraction.
