Unless you are hiking for the sake of challenging yourself, I don’t suggest going back down via the trail to emigration trailhead(the trail that looks straight to the top). It’s super steep and gravel on the trail and my hiking shoes Moab 3 didn’t even have enough traction and felt very sketchy even using poles going down. It might be a little easier going up than down but still can’t be difficult in terms of traction. The trail via living room trail works much better for going both up and down. It’s approx 2 miles and 2000 feet elevation gain going up and trail partially shaded. You can see quite some runners on the trail as it’s by the U.

Nice winter hike on packed snow. I used crampons as there were some slippery areas in the busier, lower sections near the bottom. Upper areas were not crowded, but the snow was packed for the most part with occasional waist deep sections.

It's a fairly steep hike, but it can be done in about 2-4 hours. Views of Emmigration Canyon and Salt Lake are pretty fantastic. There is a small (fire?) tower at the top. From the top, you can descend south to This is the Place Park, the Living trail, or head up the ridgeline toward Pinecrest...
