This is my first time writing a review for anything and a little delayed as I played last July, but I highly recommend avoiding this course and the management.
I'll briefly touch on the course, as that's not my main concern with this rating; I've played several courses in the area and this one was by far in the poorest condition. If you are looking for a value play, Crosswoods in Cross Lake is a great full length course and is in great condition.
My main issue with this course isn't the condition/layout/price, though -- it's the management. I mistakingly left my sunglasses at the clubhouse and called later that night to check if they were found, which they hadn't been to that point. I visited the course in the morning to check in again and left my number in the case that they were found. A few weeks went by with no call, so my parents decided to drop in to double check as they have a cabin in the area. When they stopped in, the individual working at the desk informed them that the pair of sunglasses were found, but that he wasn't sure where they were and that they had lost my number. My parents left their number at this point for when they were located, but NEVER received a call. A few days go by before we were forced to follow up again, at which point we were told the sunglasses had been given to an employee and were no longer at the course. The suggestion that they were returned seemed almost incomprehensible to the owner and he became extremely abrasive and rude. Luckily, the sunglasses were eventually returned, but in no way did management handle this situation in a competent (or respectful) way as any business would. My issue doesn't lie with the fact that my sunglasses might have been lost, but the fact that they consistently lost my number/failed to reach out, acted rudely and impatiently, and failed to acknowledge any of their repeated mistakes.

Read moreWe went golfing as a family to celebrate my dad’s birthday — a special day made even more memorable because my sister, a new golfer, was joining us for the first time. As my dad was helping her with some basic driving tips before we teed off, the course manager suddenly drove up, absolutely fuming. Without any greeting or courtesy, he accused us of breaking course rules by golfing in a group larger than four, and immediately threatened to kick us off the course without a refund.
He didn’t ask questions. He didn’t try to clarify. His exact words were, “There’s nothing you can say to convince me this is okay.” His tone was aggressive, condescending, and completely uncalled for — especially considering how calm and respectful we were in return. It was jarring, and frankly, it cast a dark shadow over what should’ve been a lighthearted and meaningful day for our family.
Look, we understand enforcing policies — that’s part of managing a course. But there’s a way to talk to people, and this guy chose hostility over professionalism. It felt less like he was doing his job and more like he was on a personal power trip.
On the flip side, a different staff member — the gentleman handling cart returns — was a total delight. Friendly, kind, and clearly trying to create a good experience for guests. It almost felt like he was overcompensating for the manager’s terrible behavior. Either way, it’s unfortunate when one person’s attitude ruins what could have been a...
Read moreI wished I could have had this be a nice review. My family and I choose to golf there today for my nieces birthday; we scheduled two tee times. We had a total of 7 golfers and just one riding with. Disclaimer we are new to golf, and we were playing best ball. And NO ONE at this facility informed us we could not golf as a “group”. On hole 13 a young gentleman that works there claims he told us “to golf faster”. On hole 15, an older guy that is the golf course manager came at us on his cart yelling you guys can’t golf 8. We simply said we booked two tee times and he screamed I don’t care if you booked 5 tee times you can’t golf 8!!! And we were trying to be calm stating no one told us and he angrily said I’m gonna go get the staff member that told you couldn’t. So young gentleman on hole 13 came back with this so called manager to defend that he told us we couldn’t golf 8 and that simply wasn’t the truth. The anger and yelling by the golf course “manager” was unbelievable. We collectively were stunned. We merely tried to challenge that we weren’t told that, and this old man kicked us out and said you’re done! Young gentleman on hole 13 looked stunned himself by older guys actions and even spoke to one of our crew stating he did not expect that to happen. The only way of making this right is giving us our money back for the holes of golf we couldn’t finish. Anger never solved anything… I will give grace and pray for...
