I bought compost and the dirt/compost mix from here in late April. I decided to buy here because the compost prices were great and the site was closer than Gertens. The dirt was good, but the compost was full of garbage. I picked through what I saw on the surface and ended up with 2 ice cream pails full of trash. Combing through it took longer than unloading it. I gave up after about half a yard. I had plastic silverware pieces, a whole plastic spoon, a Gogurt wrapper, about 2 cups of glass pieces, some bigger than a quarter, parts of nitrile glove parts, random plastic pieces, and shredded WalMart bag scraps. I'm still picking trash out of my garden. With all of the trash, it's hard to believe that they qualify for United States Composting Council's Seal of Testing Assurance Program. There are many 2"+ sticks in it, so they aren't doing a good job of screening it. I will definitely not get compost here again. On Google there are 2 results for this place, under 2 different names. I will leave the same review for both results so people...

Compost is terrible! Buy elsewhere! I am continually finding pieces of garbage in mine….. plastic, glass, fabric, etc. And I purchased the “STA tested organic” compost. Like, you can’t tell me these rigorous standards are met when it’s literally mixed with trash. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the mulch store is in a convenient proximity to my home and when we purchased compost we got it half off for “compost week.” And while I can’t be certain, I’m having issues with potato beetles and cutworms when I didn’t before using this compost……….Pictured is what I collected after my THIRD glean from only the top of my...

Prices have gotten out of control since Waste Management took control. They charged me $60 for a pick up load (about 1 yd) of tree trimmings and an additional $54 for 18 paper bags less than half full of grass clippings. It’s convenient, but way overpriced considering I’m doing all the work and bringing them materials they compost or chip and resell. Will be looking for...
