I think the first thing these people should understand is that nobody is required to do business with them, especially since their prices are significantly higher than most hardware stores. I went to make a purchase today and the lady who works there was rather aggressive as soon as I walked in. I didn’t feel welcomed. Since I was taking a quick lunch break, I was prepared to look around a bit, see what else I could purchase and go from there. As an owner of a retail store, I understand the difference impulse purchases can make on your average ticket. She was having none of that and her actions made it clear that my dollar really didn’t matter. In addition to that, the store doesn’t take credit cards. So the expectation was to deal with her approach before inconveniencing myself to pay for their overpriced merchandise. This is definitely a no-go for me and I’ll stick with the hardware section of the local dollar stores.
