I was in Pensacola visiting when my “check engine” light came on. My usual mechanic Larry at Adkinson’s referred me to Stuart’s place as 1 of 2 places who work on transmissions that he trusted. Stuart was able to order the parts needed (luckily just a solenoid instead of the valve pump) and gave me an estimate of $700 for parts and labor. I did have to wait over a week before they could get to it because of how busy they were. I let him know I was from out of town and he was able to get to it once I dropped it off. They repaired it at a lower cost than was estimated, was able to get it back to me the following day. When I went to pick it up, he mentioned he noticed the key was turning but the car was not cranking up all the way. And that if it continued, it could be an issue with the fuel pump. I was able to drive home, but once I got home, it was having that issue even after adding some gas. I called and he said he’d be happy to double check their work the next day, which they did and were able to show me where they removed a part to get to the transmission. They also noticed the AC compressor was making a noise when starting the car with AC on, something that could be pulling energy from the motor. They did a thorough inspection then I went back to Larry to have them take care of the issue. Stuart was very personable, communicated in a timely manner, went the extra mile to double check everything, pointed out other things to look out for, and was able to shave some dollars off the estimate. I was really happy with their customer service and work! I’d highly recommend their services!

Stuart is the to-go-to Mechanic in Pensacola and I would drive from Panama City (2hrs) if I had transmission needs. My son is a student at UWF and used him to get his 2019 Chevy Silverado P/U back up in running after his transmission failure. I was skeptical at first when my son said he diagnosed the issue over the phone and a new transmission was in order but he was dead on and had a new one on site and replaced within a week. Since then my son has taken his truck for unrelated issues and Stuart gives him free advice and fair options ensuring he is taken care of. My son has a great sense of character and feels he can go to Stuart for an honest opinion and top notch service. Nice for him to have someone to go to that's looking after his best interest.

I have a Dodge Journey. I was experiencing a bouncy reverse with intermittent reverse loss and soft limp mode. I had suspected based on that intermittent issue that I either had a transmission fluid issue or a TCM issue. This place was recommended to me, so I called and asked them what it would cost Me to have them check my transmission fluid. Of course got rid of the transmission fluid dipstick so that you would be required to go to a dealership, Or at least that’s what they want you to think. So following their instruction, since I am slightly mechanically inclined, but not enough to trust my own opinion over a professionals, I stopped driving my car and had it towed into them. They had the car for maybe 10 minutes. Call me back and said yep you need a whole new transmission and torque converter. That’ll be $5500. I didn’t even pay that much for the whole car. This is a 2016 with about 140,000 on it. I decided it still drove forward and I would keep driving it until I couldn’t. But the more I drove it The more I didn’t trust their professional opinion. A bad transmission doesn’t run just fine some days and bad on others. They don’t fix themselves. So after my car started whining, a typical sign of lower bad transmission fluid. I finally Got the idea to change the transmission filter and fluid myself. At this point, I didn’t think I could do any harm so I cleaned off my oil dipstick and stuck it down in the transmission fluid tube and lo and behold. My transmission fluid was black. Drop the transmission fluid pan and it is absolutely full of black gooey gunky crud, Some shavings, But no chunks. It’s likely the transmission fluid had never been changed. So less than $100 later, I now have a car that drives like a brand new car forward and backwards and a tow bill to a shop that tried to rob me assuming because I’m a woman they thought they could take advantage of me. Not a whole lot worse than a dishonest mechanic. I don’t think they even bother to check the transmission fluid like I asked them to do. Yes, if you use a basic scanner, I did have a transmission code which only came on after it was received by the shop conveniently. But anyone with experience knows that if you use a basic scanner for transmission ear issues it’s going to give you a generic code. If you use a transmission scanner, it breaks that code down. I assume they did not do this. So here’s to saving $5400, Having a nice reliable vehicle, And not doing business with...

Hope you're having a great Friday. Stuart, you talked yourself out of 3,500.00 transmission rebuild including kit at 1,200.00 and shift kit at 650hp/850 TQ and upgrade planets and shaft with a yr warranty. Which I just paid for it I'm not worried about warranty because of application of use(racing) to avoid warranty anyway. I want a solid and the allows check in clutch packs build Just because you want to insult my intelligence. Not my first transmission rebuild. The fact you want to keep cutting me off in conversation. Not allowing me to talk. Bringing up things that have nothing to do with rebuilding a transmission just to up charge me. You have a great Friday Stuart. Truth hurts. Stuart the other shop didn't refuse my work. They do not do bent builds. Yes I did raise my voice over yours as I said you kept cutting me off when I was trying to tell you about the trans build that I was looking for. Going off on some space adventure. Talking about things I don't need done. Talking about ecm shift pattern TPS WOT O2 flushing trans cooler, radiator. "A Bent build" right!!!, you kept talking. I stated,None of that matters. then you start telling me that it does matter. Look My race application is not found in car dealerships or in any books, I use a frame from f150 I use a ford engine I use a ford transmission. The rest is aftermarket, hand made, that's it. I tried to tell you, it rolled. That it will have new trans lines, a new radiator a new trans cooler and there's no way you are touching my TCM or my ecm for the engine and fuel system. You just kept talking . And thank you for your concern. Yes! The transmission is being built and will be ready in a week. absolutely! no problem from the other builder. "you can hear what people say if you don't speak" this is on you. Nothing against shop guys that is the sole back bone of that shop. Hate to say it. But you talked yourself out of a paying job . And left a lasting impression that I will not use this shop and I'll share this with anyone who needs something done to a...
