Room quality ranges wildly. During our stay for a wedding we got moved between rooms which with a 7 month old was pretty rough and left us with nowhere for our baby to nurse or nap during the day. But I’m going to say that was the fault of the wedding planner not the venue. The first place we stayed was a historic adobe which was in a bit of disrepair (to be expected for a place that age). The second room was a very new room in a building on the Mesa which was much more comfortable. This is more of a hiking/camping location so do not expect hotel style or quality accommodation or services. That said the people were very nice and the location is spectacular. Even so I can’t honestly give a five star given how harrowing the trip was with a baby. Nursing in a hot car in the sun from 10-3 and scrambling to move our stuff from one room to another with a baby in tow, and a lack of cell service that kept me trapped in my room so my partner could locate me in time to make scheduled events for the wedding. I’m planning to come back with my family and mom on our own and handle our own booking which should help, and next time I’ll have a satellite phone which should make coordination with the baby much easier, plus by then he will be almost 2 years old which will make a...
Read moreI've been coming to Ghost Ranch for almost 50 yrs. My father first brought me when I was 11 months old in 1972.
The place has a spirituality about it that is hard to find elsewhere. I feel close to God when I am here.
Ghost Ranch is rejuvenating and relaxing with hikes to match all skill levels. There is a massage therapist on staff. The food varies from adequate to excellent depending on the chef that is on staff. Patrick their newest chef in 2021 is fantastic! I've enjoyed just about every meal this last week.
The beds are comfortable. The rooms a little spartan. There's no AC but there are fans and it cools off into the 60's most nights in the summer. The pool is freezing cold and a joy after a long, hot hike. The wranglers and their horses give a great view of the ranch that is inaccessible by foot.
If you try it out on a day visit, you'll want to come back next time for a week or...
Read moreIncredible experience visiting sites which inspired a number of Georgia O’Keeffe’s most memorable works. I frequently enjoy tours when traveling, so I have a lot to compare this experience to. Our tour guide, Lucinda, was exceptional. Her depth of knowledge regarding both the artist and the art was impressive! She made the stories so engaging that I came away from the experience feeling like I really had a good understanding of much of the history of Ghost Ranch and the people who were part of its past. It’s easy to see why O’Keeffe was so captivated by the area. It definitely merits a visit, and it’s impossible to imagine how anyone could come away...
