I was so excited to try these lobster rolls, so I bought a kit so I had extra, 1 lb of lobster meat and 6 bread rolls, a container with cut lemon, and mayonnaise packets, $130!!! The website listed a different price than I was charged, so obviously the company doesn't update. $23.00 for a very small "hot dog" sized roll in my opinion is too high! Especially the small amount of lobster meat given and there was no butter added to the kit. I would have become a frequent follower of your food truck had the rolls been more satisfying. Literally one roll was basically not enough, so you'd be looking at $46 for 2, with nothing else added, no chips, no fries, no pickles, no celery, just the lobster meat and bread roll, the photo on your website shows overflowing, nicely filled rolls, this was not the case. So Cousins, I'm sorry, you've lost a new customer. Oh, but I will compliment you on the whoopie pies I purchased. My husband said you may need to rename the company "Cousins whoopie pies", those were good. this is the info on their website: TAKE HOME THE AT-HOME LOBSTER ROLL KIT (1LB) $115.00 1lb Maine lobster meat, 6 New England split top rolls, butter, mayo, and lemons. Everything you need to make our famous lobster rolls at home! My receipt...
Read moreKinda disappointed. Every lobster roll I've ever had has three main aspects, big New England roll, lobster covered in mayo, and something to add some cruch (whether that be celery, onion, colslaw, etc whatever floats your boat).
Upon opening the bag and reaching in, I was initially surprised at the size of the box for a 23 dollar lobster roll. Further to find that it was missing the the signature big bun, and that it was simply a small, 4 bite roll, filled exclusively with lobster. Missing the generous mayo and the crunch. Additionally, while most lobster rolls are served cold, not hot, these were somewhere in between. Wasnt sure how to feel about it. If I were to offer some constructive criticism, I would suggest a larger roll with with additional additives for a crunchy note to compliment the lobster.
The second thing we ordered was the lobster bisque... not a lot to say. It was decent, but felt that it is slightly lacking of the creamy bisque-ness of a lobster bisque. Personally, i prefer lobster chunks as opposed to just a single piece, to each their own.
For 33 dollars.... meh it was mediocre. Sure you can get business from the northville-ites, but to appeal to the broader audiences I feel that the size and flavor should...
Read moreWe have been trying to eat at this food truck for a while. Had it for lunch today. Disappointed in the quality and ingredients. We could smell the lobster long before we took a bite. Not a quality anyone finds appealing in any seafood product. We had the Maine roll ($23/each). Price was not a barrier, but I expect a good sandwich for the money. It was almost all claw meat in the bun. It was smelly, as I have said. I squeezed all the juice I could get out of the lemon wedge provided. That helped dull some of the smell. The bun is about 6 inches long. Fairly small. The bun itself was good. Toasted and buttery. There was a small squeeze of mayo on the bottom of the bun. Nothing else included but meat, mayo, bun and lemon wedge. Not very good at all. As another review said, it should have a little more like celery pieces and it should be mixed together. We ended up tossing the second sandwich because my husband could not get over the smell. My mom tried the bisque and said it was thin and not what she expected. I could smell that as well. I wouldn't have...
