This place is beautiful. I had never heard of it until I met my wife who grew up going there to the family cabin every summer. As more and more people find out about it, the crowds grow and so does the boat traffic. It gets harder every year to find a spot to anchor your boat and spend the day on the beach. When I first started going with my wife’s family 18 years ago it was amazing. We would typically share the beach with only a few people but that has definitely changed. The fishing is great there the only downfall is the green head flies. If you wear bug spray it pretty much keeps them away but they do bite. Right now I think it’s still worth the hour ride but who knows in 5 years it might become very overcrowded and no longer worth it. Check it out for your self and see...
