I would have given this a full five stars if I hadn't have gone to the concession building. I work retail, and have for a couple years, so I always try to give people in similar positions the benefit of the doubt. I understand that working a Saturday night at the movies' concession during the summer when a popular movie is out is probably hell, but these girls that were working seemed like they had completely thrown in the towel for the night. It took us forever to get our nachos and popcorn (it's a different counter than the normal concession counter). The two girls behind it were too busy making snarky remarks about customers (I could hear them perfectly, so it's not like they were trying to hide it) and when we did finally get our food, with it taking so long you would at least think it would be fresh.....nope. The chips were stale and the cheese was cold. Even our popcorn was stale. We ended up eating a couple bites before throwing the bowl away. Next up we decided to get our drinks. This counter is set up with four cashiers to help the line move along. If one opens up, they'll holler for whoever is next. Once again, it was a long wait and when it was finally our turn, we had the pleasure (sarcasm) of having probably the grouchiest one in the bunch. Another young girl next to her that was sweating (it's super warm in there, so there was no way she couldn't be) was laying her glistening forehead on the counter that food was being served on. Our grouchy cashier had to prod her to get her to help make up our drinks, of course they had to stop and argue about what drinks we were having first. After we paid there was no 'Have a good day', 'Thanks for coming', or even a 'Screw off' spoken, so we awkwardly shuffled out. Other than our bad concession experience, the rest was really nice. Every vehicle had a decent amount of space and you could easily hear the movie without even worrying about tuning in on the radio. I'll continue to come back, but I think I'll be bringing...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite activities when we come down to the lake and really, this has to be one of the best drive-ins anywhere. Not only is it cheaper to get in than a movie theater, but you get TWO movies for less than the price of one! You get a trash bag and menu upon entering. There are two lines, one on either side of the entry booth. They will allow outside food for a fee of $15 upon entry but, why would you want to when the food prices are SO reasonable?? The food btw, is delicious. Ok yes, it's not exactly healthy but neither is food at the theater. They make good burgers and delicious seasoned, hot, fresh fries!
After entering, find a place to park. If you have kids, consider bringing camp chairs and letting them sit outside to eat. You may want to bring bug spray just in case the mosquitoes are out. You can always park backward if you have a truck and put the tailgate down. Then, head in for food and to empty your bladder before the movie. I recommend arriving 45 minutes early, maybe even an hour on summer Saturday nights, if you plan to get food. The line can get quite long and food prep may take a while. When you get back to your vehicle, make sure you turn all your lights off, including your interior overhead light so it doesn'tshine if you have to get out of your vehicke after dark. It's very distracting to others. Then, tune in to the indicated FM station on your radio. Recline back in the comfort of your vehicle (or discomfort depending on your vehicle.. lol) and enjoy the movies! Lastly, before you exit, drop that trash bag by a pole and them them take care of the cleanup!
One thing to note, unfortunately, they do not want you to switch screens (there are three for a total of six movies playing each night). However, we have parked in the back row and then turned our vehicle around after the first movie to face another screen to watch a different movie. It will usually work out unless the first movie on one of the screens is a super long movie compared...
Read moreNot a fan. Visited for a special event. Prices that I was charged were more than the prices as was on the menu that I got off of the counter. When I asked about it the girl working the counter just said that the menu I had was the "wrong menu". We ordered cheeseburgers, chicken strips and a corn dog. The cheeseburgers were burnt and very dry. The corn dog was obviously microwaved and then wrapped and sat around for a while. We did not end up eating it bc it tasted so bad. The chicken was extremely dry and very stringy, no dipping sauce, could barely swallow it. Also, when I asked for some extra ketchup the worker huffed at me before she gave me any. From the time I got in line to the time I left with our food it had been 1 hour! That was one hour I had to stand in an extremely hot building, could barely breathe in due to the smells/smoke coming out of the kitchen and the temperature of the building. There was one person taking orders and one person ringing people up. They definitely need a better and more efficient system with a crowd as large as they had. I was extremely worried about the workers in the kitchen. The heat for them was much worse than it was for me and I was literally dripping wet because of the temperature. That just cannot be a healthy environment to be working in. At one point around one hundred people (yes I counted), were in the small building at the same time. That's entirely too many people bunched in together especially with the covid-19 safety precautions. No one was social distancing, barely anyone wear a mask, and we were packed in that building as if there were no precautions at all. And, the Ladies room ran out of toilet paper. I told the girl at the counter about it but never saw her tell anybody else about it. Not a good...
