Last week I was pulling out my bugle and blowing taps for my Simplicity tractor mower.

I had (almost) every reason to believe the engine's block had cracked. It was shaking like a jackhammer and spewing oil all over the lawn.

Hope springs eternal. At least it does when you don't have $3,000 for a new tractor mower.

I called Hoffman Simplicity in Etna Green. They're the ones who have worked miracles on this mower in years past.

If there's a more honest business in Kosciusko County, I can't imagine what it would be. And if there's anyone who knows small engines and mowers more thoroughly than does Hoffman's, well, I can't image that either.

Friendly, too.

Anyway, the engine mounts had worked loose and/or broken. The freed engine vibrated so much that it pressed the oil filter against the housing until it ruptured.

Total repair bill: $66 dollars.

If you've been here you probably will have no desire to go anywhere else for your mower and other equipment needs. They've been around for years and that speaks volumes in itself. Friendly, knowledgeable, family run business. I'm kind of a no nothing type of person when I'm trying to explain what I need and don't do a very good job of explaining lots of times. They're patient and always able to speak my language. Just take in your model number & serial number and begin describing the problem. They'll figure it out with you and I appreciate that. I didn't even but the mower there and they were still do helpful. Having said that, next mower I do buy will come...
