One of the very good picnic spot for spending your wonderful time with family and friends. We have grilling stations and benches for having your food, only thing to mind is getting a spot may be difficult during vacation seasons. The en route from Chattanooga is a hour long drive and at the end the road is so much worst and the entire car will be covered with dust. The falls itself definitely is a eye pleasing view and to take few photographs. There is no shallow water staying below the falls foot and hence if planning to get wet we need to be under the falls and however kids loved it. The trail leading to the falls is around 2miles distance and about 60% of the distance you can use strollers and it is covered by trees on both sides and hence the sun effect was less while walking in trail. One of the best entertainment here is there is big pond/lake kind of encroachment is there where definitely both kids and adults can enjoy with their swimming and kids/ toddlers can take their swimming protecting gears. There are bath house available for use after swimming. The reasons for 4 star are: Restrooms can further be maintained well and parking seems to be a big issue very difficult to get a slot and seems so congested. Overall if you plan for this you won’t be disappointed and fun is...
Read moreSimply beautiful!! Okay... so it is a long drive up to the trail but it is worth it! I had no trouble getting up there in my SUV. I hiked it with my dog early January on a weekday morning. If you get there early you can have the waterfall all to yourself. I will say that at first I was a little confused because the sign to the waterfall was not obvious to me so I kept walking. I turned around, saw it and then went down. Watch your step because it gets kinda slippery. I went a few days after it had rained and there several sections where you just had to go through mud. The hike is a very easy one and dog friendly. I saw several families on my way back out of there so kid friendly too. While I was making my way to the waterfall I did encounter someone riding a dirt bike so maybe they have trails sectioned off for that as well. I found this hike just riding by and...
Read moreBeautiful easy 3 mile hike to some amazing falls. The only hard part is the very final stretch where you have to descend rapidly into the gorge. The hike was filled with blossoming flowers of all kinds in mid may. The trail is well maintained and mostly clear of rocks until the end. I saw people of all ages making the hike so I would say it's accessible to most. Overall my watch calculated just over 3 miles and about 400 ft elevation gain. We spent a good deal of time at the falls but overall spent an hour and a half on the hike. The rocks are slippery at the end so make sure you wear appropriate footwear and watch your steps carefully. I highly recommend this waterfall if you are in...
